I am trying to figure out how UT is going to stop anyone with a pulse on offense. The last several games have shown that Shoop has no clue what he is doing. I am not convinced that he has any idea how to stop an offense that shows motion or has the capability of running a wr sweep or screen. UT should match up well with UF but the defensive coaching staff is atrocious. UT should be able to move the ball a little on offense but will it be enough to overcome the defense? I was all for the Shoop hire based off of what he had done at Vandy and PSU but it is clear that he had little to do with that success. He looks absolutely lost on the sidelines.
These are just my gut feelings about this game:
1) There will be an asterisk put next to this game by the national sports people because of the hurricane if UT wins handily (28-7 type of score). The national sports people will say "The Gators did not get to practice, players are suspended, blah, blah, blah" The Vols will get no credit for winning.
2) If the Gators win this game Butch will get roasted for the same reasons that the Gators get a pass for losing (Gators did not practice, players suspended, blah, blah). The roasting might be deserved, we will have to wait and see how the "Coaching" aspect of the game goes.
3) QD will get every snap this game. We need consistency and JG looked, and was inconsistent last week versus an inferior opponent (Not knocking JG I wanted him to win the starting job outright this spring so we could have him 3 years or more. He also fits the offensive style better).
4) QD will throw at least 1 pick this week. He has tried to fit the ball into triple coverage during the GT game too many times and last week threw it straight to the ISU player in the end zone.
5) UT will out rush FL this week. Kelly gets over 100 yards.
6) The Vols defense comes with a vengeance, there will be blitzes from everywhere. The D holds the Gators rushing to under 100 yards and passing under 175 yards.
With all of this said I feel the Vols win a low scoring game 23-20.

Prove it. If it is true... then it should be really easy to prove. I watched the GT game a half dozen times trying to prove myself wrong. I saw once that he threw into coverage to JJ and once to Wolf. I didn't see anything else that wasn't a normal convergence of coverage after the throw. It is important to know what you are looking at too. GT played a lot of zone. Defenders in a zone will always break to the ball at the throw. It always "looks crowded" by design. Part of what you want out of a zone is lots of tacklers around receivers as soon as they make the catch. If you are accusing QD of trying to hit soft spots in GT's zone with a player on all 3 sides... that's true but not "triple coverage". That's pretty much what you do vs a zone.4) He has tried to fit the ball into triple coverage during the GT game too many times and last week threw it straight to the ISU player in the end zone.
Dormady will play well and especially if he gets help from the receivers. UT's O overall will be more effective than many think. What are your "gut feelings" on this game.
I think we should win the game. But its Florida and its in Gainesville, a place weve only won a couple times in my lifetime, so all bets are off.
Id love to win both, but I almost think that UGA game is the more important of the two.
