UT Fans Clamoring for Change.May get their wish.Chris Low

Okay, so we know all of the information in the story. Can anyone dispute it, NO. But what I want to know as a Prideful Tennessee Fan, how did Bama have that many fans in our stadium?
The students didn't give back 50,000 tickets? Hart called Tennessee out because of a lack of passion, and he is right. You don't blame that on the coach, unless you are a fairweather fan and only show up and cheer when we win. Do you wear your Orange and White after we lose a game, not to be shamed in public? If that is the case, I almost feel sorry for you because you have no pride, much less guts. I was disgusted Saturday night by the sight a Crimson Riddled home game in Neyland Stadium that is usually a "Sea of Orange". Yes, the game was more than disappointing in most areas, does that mean I go home and hide the fact that I am a Tennessee Fan? I read all of the "NegaVol" rhetoric on this sight and get mad. I want to win as bad as the next fan, student, player, or alum. But by God, act like a Volunteer fan. It is the easiest thing in the world to show support to YOUR program when they are winning. However, anyone with zero intestinal fortitude can bail out when things are tough and not going your way. That is what angers me the most, fans on here talk about the team quitting or not trying, and the same fans or sell their ticket to the biggest game in UT history. It is not called the 3rd Saturday in October because it is meaningless in the SEC, and "so to speak" Tennessee Fans bail on our team because they don't have enough guts of pride to support the team becaus they think we don't have a chance! That's BS! I have heard recruit after recruit say the love the atmosphere inside Neyland on gameday at home. If we had recruits looking for that Saturday, they saw our true colors, we will not support you unless you win young man. So if you can't handle us walking out when YOU lose, don't come to UT! I know that is not the message that we want to send, but that is what it looked like Saturday night. I had an Alabama fan call me during the game and tell me that he has never seen that in a crowd at an Alabama game, and don't expect he ever will. That hurt, and he wasn't talking about the score, he was talking about our fans.

and u believed an Alabama fan talking about having superior fans? wtf

There is absolutely zero chance of that happening, if we fire dooley.

Zero.

So, don't even pretend to believe that it's possible. If we fire him, we will lose all the headway we made with recruiting, with the improved offensive line, etc etc and so on.

We will be back at starting point.

Fire Dooley, and will have to wait 4-5 more years before competing for an SEC East. Fact.

So lets keep Dooley, and watch him get fired in year 4 or year 5 is what you are saying? So instead that wait you are talking about? Go ahead and add 2 years to it if your wish comes true. You don't let the person driving you the wrong way to keep driving if you want to reach your destination.

You could give Derek Dooley 15 years and he would never win the SEC. He can't win football games. What good is "headway" if it never goes anywhere?

Rip the bandaid off now and start the clock over now. Crazy to wait two or three more useless years and then start it over.

I honestly can't understand y people are so afraid of firing Dooley. its mind boggling

even if we kept DD, we prob wouldnt be any better next season unless we have a MUCH improved D, and a stronger O line, and a QB that KNOWS how to read the field and when to throw the ball in tight spaces like PM did during his tenure at UT..the best QB of all time at UT...but Im not seeing it in bray..even if he were to come back hes not a lock to remain the starter...with DD next season if he is retained we win about 7 again, with a better proven winner of a coach next yr I see us winning close to 9. But DD isnt the long term answer as a coach..hes had 3 yrs to get it done and we havent seen ANYTHING in improvements whatsover...its time UT breaks out the checkbook and brings in a coach that can turn this around starting next season and be competitive and go from there...

Well put. Buses can go in only one direction at a time. Dooley has had three seasons to get the VOL bus turned around. Unfortunately, the VOL bus is still still heading in the wrong direction - toward self-destruction. If the driver (Dooley) can't turn the bus around... then the management needs to find a driver who can get the job done.

Management can wait for a couple more years to see if Driver Dooley can get the bus turned, and the next guy will have farther to go in getting to the desired destination (winning seasons, bowl games, and defeating "meaningful" teams). Get another experienced and capable driver now (along with the fuel he needs (resources), and the bus will get to the desired destination a few years sooner than if they wait a couple of years to change drivers.

People are simply afraid of change. Consider:

Battle was fired (many were upset) and Majors was brought in (and we saw almost immediate improvement)

Majors was fired (many were upset) and Fulmer was brought in (Beat Bama, Florida, won SECc's & NC)

Fulmer was fired (many were upset) and Kiffin was brought in (had a winning season, brought lying to a new level, left the program in a total state of chaos)

"Liar" Kiffin left (MANY were upset) and Dooley was brought in (few SEC wins, losing records, decent recruiting, 0 - 14 record against ranked teams)

So, fans need not be afraid of change... just the timing and circumstances of change. In our case, the timing is right, now, for a change... and the circumstances demand it. I hate to see Dooley fail, he is a great guy, but he has had his chance.

I hate to say it, because I love UT sports as much as anyone... But, if Dooley is retained for next year... I do not see 7 wins with the posted schedule... I'd say 5, at most.

i'm afraid we are about to c a season ending meltdown if Bray skipping the post game interview is any indication of whats to come

It is almost like they have a harder time letting Dooley go than a former coach who won a national title.
Some, not all, of the over the top keep Dooley crew are just on here to troll for reaction. There are some other sites you can visit where posters boast about visiting VN and making asinine posts about why we can't afford a change. There are also some folks who post the keep Dooley line who were diehard Fulmer supporters and they think we deserve where we are now and they want to inflict as much misery as they can on thier fellow fans as some sort of retrubution for losign Coach Fulmer. Then, I'm sure there are actually a few fans of other teams who post here as diehard Doolistas just to get everyone lathered up. If you subtract every poster who falls into one of the three aforementioned categories, I'd estimate that about 1/3 to 1/2 of the posters who claim to want to keep Dooley are actually serious.

I dont see this team winning out. If you do, you must enjoy the heat while watching your house burning down!

He'll lose at least one of the other games besides usc (SOS is licking his chops against this defense and Bray is scared as hell of Clowney and Taylor). I think Vandy gets them, maybe even Missouri. After this past week, I expect this team to pack it in. Theyve done it in the past.

Look at it like this in 20 SEC games over the last three years we have won three we beat Kentucky once and Vandy twice this so if this year goes like it looks then we will have 6 wins out of 24 games over the last three years if we beat Missou, Vandy, and Kentucky and thats a big if. I just don't see us beating USCe unless a micricale happens.

The Alabama game changes nothing. It's all about how he closes in the last 4 games. If he goes 7-5, he's probably back next year. With all of this talk, he may have to win the bowl game too.

Like it or not, 8-5 is a solid improvement over the last 2 years.

Comparing our situation to Auburn's is laughable. They've fallen off of a cliff and are sitting at 1-6 with games against TAMU, UGA, and Bama still to come. They're not bowling this year and will likely post a 3-9 record (worse than any in UT history).

Come out of your bubble dude - The best I see for UT is 5-7 record - they have five games left and three are sure losses (maybe four if UK shows up). There is no bowl this year and if UT don't get rid of Fooly now - UT will still be the Laughing Joke of the SEC!!!! There is only one way for UT to go - UP! They are below the bottom now. No pride at all !!!!!:machgun:Fooly!
