Before this happend, I still hope we get what we wish for!

I went on the Bama football board today.......... so much trash talking about the vols, almost made me throw my labtop.

One guy said he thought bama 2nd and 3rd team could beat the vols.

Another guy asked everyone if they get mad when the other team scores any points, the whole forum agreed that "They get really mad when Alabama gives up a touchdown"

Made my want to drive to my brother's house (Bama fan) and whoop hes A$$!

The Alabama game changes nothing. It's all about how he closes in the last 4 games. If he goes 7-5, he's probably back next year. With all of this talk, he may have to win the bowl game too.

Like it or not, 8-5 is a solid improvement over the last 2 years.

Comparing our situation to Auburn's is laughable. They've fallen off of a cliff and are sitting at 1-6 with games against TAMU, UGA, and Bama still to come. They're not bowling this year and will likely post a 3-9 record (worse than any in UT history).

7-5 is far from a lock this year. Most likely we loose to SC and at least one more loss to either Vandy or Mizzou and likely both! Dooley is gone. Count it

Just have to find the right coach.

There is absolutely zero chance of that happening, if we fire dooley.

Zero.

So, don't even pretend to believe that it's possible. If we fire him, we will lose all the headway we made with recruiting, with the improved offensive line, etc etc and so on.

We will be back at starting point.

Fire Dooley, and will have to wait 4-5 more years before competing for an SEC East. Fact.

You have placed Dooley above the program.

I think everyone on here can agree that we want the Vols to start winning again and it has became obvious that Dooley is not going to win here.

4. Dooley watch: Much like Chizik, the odds are against Tennessee coach Derek Dooley keeping his job. The Vols were hammered 44-13 by Alabama on Saturday night in Neyland Stadium, and there was a ton of crimson in that stadium. That’s never good for a coach at Tennessee. Just ask Phillip Fulmer. While Chizik has a national championship to his credit, Dooley has yet to win an SEC game of any significance. He’s now 1-11 in his past 12 league games. The only win came in overtime last season at home against Vanderbilt. There’s no question Dooley inherited a mess when he took over in 2010, and there have been signs of improvement from last season to this season. But at some point, there has to be some improvement where it counts (the win-loss department), and that just hasn’t been the case. The defense under first-year coordinator Sal Sunseri has been horrific. The Vols have given up 173 points in four SEC games. Not only that, but junior quarterback Tyler Bray has been a no-show against quality opponents. The walls are closing in fast, and Tennessee fans are clamoring for another change. They may get their wish.

This is why I hate reporters. Last week Low was feeding the rumor mill frenzy with Gruden innuendo. Now, he tries to distance himself from the "clamoring."

You have placed Dooley above the program..

Nope, I'm placing the program above negavols' insistent whining that we should compete for the SEC East right now.

PROGRAM > CRYBABY NEGAVOLS

p.s. The reason we're in the position in the first place is because of the crybaby whinings of the negavols. Negagoobers wanted Fulmer fired, so he got fired.

All that came after I blame on them. And the ABSOLUTE LAST thing I think we should do is bow to their wishes again. They're just bandwaggoners.

So we can't even find another Dooley?

As to the last comment. Why do we feel like we are gonna compete for it in 4 to 5 years given the current pattern? Is it a hope?

Negative. Nobody, but nobody was "wishing" for Hamilton to go budget shopping for a coach and select a Mid Major coach with a losing record...just because he had a last name everyone recognized.

WRONG as you often are my friend.

Hamilton was a moron and has UT basically BROKE but he did NOT go shopping for a budget, non-proven coach.

In fact Hamilton tried to get MuschUmp and many other good coaches to take on the 5 year rebuilding chore at UT and exactly NOBODY would take the job.

CDD was suggested by several people and ONLY he would take on the very tough task.

I also seriously doubt that it's going to be easy to find a coach that will come to UT now to finish this rebuilding chore because Tennessee simply is NOT rebuilt enough with our player roster that any coach can walk in and get enough Wins next season to make our fanbase happy especially since we also have to play Oregon next season.

Most smart coaches do NOT want to coach in the SEC because the odds are that they'll lose against so many of the best teams in the country and get fired and their coaching careers will be destroyed.

It's much easier to go coach somewhere else where you only have to play 1 or 2 good teams a year and can get enough wins to get new contracts that pay more $$$ every year and have a good career until you want to move on or retire.

The SEC is the hardest place in the country to get consistent wins and every coach in America knows that.

VFL...GBO!!!

so, what you're suggesting is that we stick with dooley until things get so bad, he's embarrassed to take his check and resigns. is that it?

Okay, so we know all of the information in the story. Can anyone dispute it, NO. But what I want to know as a Prideful Tennessee Fan, how did Bama have that many fans in our stadium?
The students didn't give back 50,000 tickets? Hart called Tennessee out because of a lack of passion, and he is right. You don't blame that on the coach, unless you are a fairweather fan and only show up and cheer when we win. Do you wear your Orange and White after we lose a game, not to be shamed in public? If that is the case, I almost feel sorry for you because you have no pride, much less guts. I was disgusted Saturday night by the sight a Crimson Riddled home game in Neyland Stadium that is usually a "Sea of Orange". Yes, the game was more than disappointing in most areas, does that mean I go home and hide the fact that I am a Tennessee Fan? I read all of the "NegaVol" rhetoric on this sight and get mad. I want to win as bad as the next fan, student, player, or alum. But by God, act like a Volunteer fan. It is the easiest thing in the world to show support to YOUR program when they are winning. However, anyone with zero intestinal fortitude can bail out when things are tough and not going your way. That is what angers me the most, fans on here talk about the team quitting or not trying, and the same fans or sell their ticket to the biggest game in UT history. It is not called the 3rd Saturday in October because it is meaningless in the SEC, and "so to speak" Tennessee Fans bail on our team because they don't have enough guts of pride to support the team becaus they think we don't have a chance! That's BS! I have heard recruit after recruit say the love the atmosphere inside Neyland on gameday at home. If we had recruits looking for that Saturday, they saw our true colors, we will not support you unless you win young man. So if you can't handle us walking out when YOU lose, don't come to UT! I know that is not the message that we want to send, but that is what it looked like Saturday night. I had an Alabama fan call me during the game and tell me that he has never seen that in a crowd at an Alabama game, and don't expect he ever will. That hurt, and he wasn't talking about the score, he was talking about our fans.

nothing could possibly b worse than watching another Dooley loss
