UT Fans Clamoring for Change.May get their wish.Chris Low

This guy needs to go. Period.

Maybe, but as the other poster stated, UT is in this position because of the last time the fans got their wish. If Dooley is fired he needs to be replaced with big time coach, otherwise it will just be more of the same. Unfortunately, simple economics suggests that the University cannot afford to buy out Dooley and his staff and then replace them with another top notch coaching staff. It's amazing how calling for Fulmers head has brought the program to this.

It's obvious that the current guy is not getting the job done. We all want a big name but we may not get it due to money and/or lack of interest. I don't think you keep a guy who is failing on the job just because you cannot hire your dream replacement. Worst case, you find some other hungry up and comer and give them a shot minus the big buyout. They're pretty much at a point where they have to do something.

I wish we could make Dooley an assistant coach or coordinator or move him to an admin position (after all, we're paying him-- he might as well work for those millions). The Dooleys are nice people and represent the university well, imagewise. But he's just not HC material, not now and maybe not ever. This will be his last shot for a long time at a major program. JMO.

When the University of Akron fired Coach Jerry Faust, they made him a recruiting coordinator and had him working a lot with public relations. They were paying him a buyout and making him earn it. Lee Owens was hired and won more games in one year than Faust did in three. At the end of Faust's buyout, he retired.

Perhaps the new coach will keep Dooley on as an assistant, work recruiting, or do some program PR. Dooley is not a bad man and he has brought integrity back to the program... he is just not a good SEC level head coach.

Those crutches are just too good to be true. I hope he's alright and everything, but coaching from a wheelchair, a stool and some weird, souped-up crutches is just too hilarious at a time like this. This could be the way we all remember him...gimp-legged and all.

The crutches statement is not funny. I was injured while in the Army's flight training program, spent one year and three months in the hospital at Ft Benning, and had to use crutches like those for a several years after I finally got out of my wheelchair. Please do not mock someone who has to use things like that until you've walked (or "gimped") in their shoes. Thank you... and I sincerely apologize if I appear to be overly sensitive on the subject. ><>

Remember... Dooley's buyout would not come out of the UT budget... it is to come from "prominent donors." If the money comes from donors... by simple logic - it does not come from the budget. Therefore, UT can afford to get another coach. The question is, how much dough is the administration willing to shell out for a quality coaching staff.

If donors want a new coach, we will have the money for a new coach.

TN fans are still paying the price for the last time we "got our wish"!!
Negative. Nobody, but nobody was "wishing" for Hamilton to go budget shopping for a coach and select a Mid Major coach with a losing record...just because he had a last name everyone recognized.

Sorry, I did not mean to hurt your delicate sensibilities

Making fun of a kid praying is immature and stupid on many levels. You can post funny gifs and call me a baby all you want. As a grown man who follows God, I care more about his opinion over yours. I hope someday you might understand.

The easiest money to raise is the money to get rid of Dooley in this process.

The question is, "do we have enough donors to go out and get an elite coach?"

I will support our players and respect the coaches but dooley needs to demote himself. He knows he isn't gonna make it in this league so why make us suffer more. I can no longer support him.

If you don't know then you don't care and the argument would go on forever with useless posts. It was just my opinion and I bet you could care less.

I agree with your post 100%. I thought the same thing when I saw it. Not to be picky...but it should of been said that he "couldn't" care less.

He's got more than 5 million reasons not to do that, regardless of the record.
