Fulmer actually won some SEC games. Dooley well, not so much. Fulmers players played hard and they would compete. To say that Fulmer would do no better with this team than Dooley has is just BS. Fulmer would put you on the bench if you kept screwing up. Players were held accountable for on the field play. Would the record be much different? Who knows. I do think UGA and Miss St at least.....would have been W's.

Fulmer's players quit on him, too.

We did the right thing by canning Fulmer. It's the hires afterward that have doomed us.

I think the original argument here was that we wouldn't be any better this season if Fulmer were coaching. Sure we wouldn't be 7-0, but that statement is completely false, and the guy who said it has yet to justify or back-up the claim.

The Alabama game changes nothing. It's all about how he closes in the last 4 games. If he goes 7-5, he's probably back next year. With all of this talk, he may have to win the bowl game too.

Like it or not, 8-5 is a solid improvement over the last 2 years.

Comparing our situation to Auburn's is laughable. They've fallen off of a cliff and are sitting at 1-6 with games against TAMU, UGA, and Bama still to come. They're not bowling this year and will likely post a 3-9 record (worse than any in UT history).

The problem with your theory is that UT might win only one of the remaining games and that will be Kentucky at home. But the decision will be made on empty seats in Neyland Stadium over the last half of the season and there will be plenty of them.

Really? Right thing by firing Fulmer would mean the replacement was not only in place, but capable of beating 4 of the top 6 teams in the country on a yearly basis. And win another game at the end against a national title contender from the West in Atlanta. Just to play another game for the actual national title. If you did NOT have that in place, you made an inexcusable blunder. In this case we made an inexcusable blunder. Normally in life you pay dearly for those. See 09-12 as proof we are paying dearly. :hi:

Theres no guarantee we win the last 5 games of our season...we VERY easily could end up 3-9 like Auburn if they end up with that record..the worst we could go is 4-8 and set a new record for losses in a season...all hope is about gone at this point, and I think a HUGE majority of fans prob agree...maybe major changes will happen to UT over the offseason and hopefully a good chance we land a proven winner for a coach and then the winning can commence once again...I am sick of this losing week after week, with no improvement in sight...its been 3 yrs now and no progress..time to begin anew once again...sorry DD your not cut out for a SEC coach...go coach a FCS school; your chances of winning there are ALOT better then a major D-1 school...

You're a complete moron if you think we finish the season 3-9. "we could very easily go 3-9" is one of the dumbest things I've heard on here

We can finish 8-4. Win a bowl game. That is 9 wins. Spring board for next years title run. Gotta believe.

We'd be just as bad if Fulmer was still here
Posted via VolNation Mobile

you can't be serious. Fulmer owned the doormats and never sucked to the level of Doolander. He got complacent before we let him go, our defense didn't suck like this and our offense didn't mentally handicap his teams all year long. I pray they give him a chance to come in and right the ship and remove us from the laughing stock category we are in now.

Show me some proof we WONT go 3-9 after the debacle of this season up to this point?? Troy isnt a given win neither is Missouri Vandy is going to be TOUGH and who knows about UK..I already KNOW SC is a given loss...the D hasnt shown ANYTHING to prove they can stop ANYONE on a consistent basis and the offense has been up and down depending on if they decide to play hard or not...bray has COMPLETELY unraveled see last night's game for example...so I still think theres a distinct possibility we might not win again this yr unless a miracle happens!!!

You can put as many words as you want in caps, saying the only way we win another game this year is "if a miracle happens" is moronic any way you look at it.

Those crutches are just too good to be true. I hope he's alright and everything, but coaching from a wheelchair, a stool and some weird, souped-up crutches is just too hilarious at a time like this. This could be the way we all remember him...gimp-legged and all.

I was for firing Fulmer, but in hind sight I think he should have been kept on until his contract ran out. That would have allowed UT to send him packing with no buy out, would have allowed him to crap his pants for the whole world to see, and shut up all the Fulmer lovers.

The same needs to be done to Dooley.

This deal where coaches burn a program to the ground, walk off with a big hunk of cash, excuses for their ineptitude, and a chance to con another school into giving them a job needs to come to an end.

There are too many former players and higher ups that want this..issue...resolved. Therefor I believe Dooley's tenure is over.

However, it doesn't really matter if the OP is telling the truth. The coaching ability of this staff, and the level of opponents we have left will seal the deal.

If he loses the SC game he is gone. Arrangements are being made and have been for awhile
