UT close to deal with Jeff Brohm

Talking to Purdue Associate Athletics Communications Director Matt Rector and says “Jeff Brohm has been out recruiting since Monday, getting ready for a bowl game and has not been contacted by Tennessee.”

Dan Harralson

He's only an unknown if you don't pay attention. But judging by your advocacy for installing a triple option offense at UT, it's pretty clear that you don't.

No offense to Mr. Brohm, but he's an unknown at this level.

And will we also inherit his staff? How good can they be?

With as much $$$ as we're waving around, why must we suffer with the risk of unknown?

It's not only embarrassing it's illogical.

What's embarrassing is all your threads.

Typical Tennessee underwhelming hire. The Brohm apologists are already out in full force. If he is hired, we will have a repeat of the last 10 years.

Could there be CTE symptoms during game time decisions due to XFL hit?

If he wins and develops players - recruiting will take care of itself.

Oh, I don't disagree at all. It would be refreshing to not have approximately 100% of our players regress over their tenure at UT. Just wondering if we might be able to get some instant impact as early signing is rapidly approaching.

Purdue is a bottom dweller that is going to a bowl game. He took that group of players and only lost to undefeated Wisconsin by 8 and crushed Missouri (which destroyed us). There is no doubt he is a good football coach.

I don't know how he can recruit. But if he can get 6 wins out of that Purdue team without ANY of them coming against D1AA or whatever hell it's called today, then he is doing something right.

Great, see ya'll in another 4-5 years during the next search.

I get the sentiment. Honestly this feels eerily similar to when we hired Jones for me. I was totally ready to back him and did until the meltdown last year. I am hoping this hire is better than mediocre and can do better in the SEC, but honestly if not Brohm who would you hire instead?

I am not trying to argue here but I just don't know that we are going to get too many other opportunities here. (Honestly if I was Kiffin or Martin at this point I would tell Currie to pound sand if he came knocking)

We’re not hiring PURDUE. Since everyone here doesn’t watch football, and has to Google this coach anyway, peruse Nick Saban’s time at Michigan State...which had a pretty good winning tradition before he took over.

Please look at his stats and tell me he doesnt know how to run an offense. The guy knows how to coach and going 6-6 at Purdue his first year is proof of that

Removing Team Toxic (Davenport/Currie/Haslam/Manning) has to be the only goal at this point!

TN will never have a chance until these people are removed. These are the EXACT people responsible for burning our house down. They do not Care! They are being paid well for the results they have produced and will continue to produce (Brohm, Jones, Dooley...).

Face it, all we have at this point are ashes. The only way a home is rebuilt after it burns is by the ones that actually had invested in it and care!

It's time to Stop complaining, Stop looking for some outsider to clean up our mess and Stop being afraid to succeed!

It's time to go to Work with a single goal if you want to see TN's home rebuilt!

No ONE is going to do it for us!

lol. what are you going to do? The only people with any real power are the people with money. Most of us are not those people.

Do we really think Jeff Brohm can regularly defeat Saban, Mullen and Smart? If we don't think he can then we are definitely settling for less than what our program deserves. We will be having this conversation again in 3-4 years.

Dooley whooped Butch, Butch whooped Brohm, Brohm whooped [insert UT's next coach]...
