UT close to deal with Jeff Brohm

Hopefully if they hire him we will see some good Assistants come to the program. Butch never wanted to hire anybody that he couldn't control. I think Brohm will let guys do their job so he needs some capable people to come with him to the Tennessee program.
Hopefully were not keeping any of the butch holdovers unless Gillespie wants to stay.

Apparently he is on thebroad recruting for Purdue right this moment. A recruit just tweeted him for stopping by his house....

A Jeff Brohm coached football team is not going to be "soft." The past two years, our team came out flat, not ready to play in nearly every game. They lacked motivation, fell behind early, and had to make a ridiculous number of fourth quarter comebacks just to get those two nine win seasons. This is probably why we weren't SEC east champions in Butch's third and/or fourth seasons.

Those days are over. Brohm may or may not be able to recruit on an SEC level. He may or may not succeed in Knoxville. But you can be sure that our guys will carry the fight to the other side and keep it there for sixty minutes. Go Vols.

We just hired our 4th Up and Coming coach since Fulmer. How have the previous 3 panned out? We will never win again until we have a complete overhaul within the administration. You get what you pay for. Currie should he fired immediately!

He is a good man but not a great coach. He will never win the East. That's a fact. We will LOSE every year to Georgia, Florida and Alabama. This being said, I guess UT thinks they can do no better. Sad isn't it.

He was 30 and 10 at Western Kentucky and 6 and 6 at Purdue. He has a lot of experience as a coach and player. I think he is a good hire much better than what is beside him on the board. He gets him a great DC in here maybe this will work.
Hopefully he accepts the job gonna be him or somebody worse and he is the best that they are still interviewing.

I would still rather have kiffin. 6 months ago I would have chosen a back alley vasectomy over kiffin, not after what I've witnessed this fall. Nope. Just really think I'm done with UT for a while. 3rd gen alum, time to step back or maybe away for awhile. There is only one reason we don't have a the best of the best, and it's the House of Haslam.

This is the second richest program in the country on its own without booster funds and the fans just keep on settling for mediocrity and hoping for a few crumbs of success. THIS IS NOT UT FOOTBALL!

At least he's not Mullen... But only marginally better.

I suspect we will be back here in 4-5 years looking for another coach.

Oh well. Maybe the environment won't be as toxic then and we can actually get someone good.

Talking to Purdue Associate Athletics Communications Director Matt Rector and says “Jeff Brohm has been out recruiting since Monday, getting ready for a bowl game and has not been contacted by Tennessee.”

I’m not sure what program you guys think you’re cheering for? Sadly, this is a home run for us right now. Honestly if you do your research he’s did some good things. He has gotten decent recruiting classes at Purdue and has won games when the program wasn’t before. Give this guy a chance.

We can forget about the Kiffin nonsense. I could get behind it but Currie is smart enough to know some would protest bringing Kiffin back into Knoxville. He’s trying to save his job. It’s the safest hire for him and probably the safest available hire for us as well.

You don't understand how this whole fact thing works do you?

Butch Jones 52- Brohm 20
September 7, 2013

I’m down with Brohm, but just wanted to point this out. He lost to the guy we fired by 32 points, after all the bi+4ing about how Butch lost to Dooley.

So now a game between Cincinnati and Western Kentucky that happened four years ago should have a major impact on our coaching search? That's why even the "Dooley beat Butch" thing, even though that game at least involved Tennessee, was so stupid. It was one freaking game, and Butch's team was not the one with the talent advantage.

Maybe they will remember that a big pile of cash draws more interest than facilities.

Probably needs to check his voicemail.
