Talking to Purdue Associate Athletics Communications Director Matt Rector and says “Jeff Brohm has been out recruiting since Monday, getting ready for a bowl game and has not been contacted by Tennessee.”

I assume this is smokescreen to not impact Purdue recruiting.

Congrats to Brohm for landing this job. It doesn't excite me, but he has my support and I will give him a chance. That being said, he better be cheap.

No chance this is true.

Butch Jones 52- Brohm 20
September 7, 2013

I’m down with Brohm, but just wanted to point this out. He lost to the guy we fired by 32 points, after all the bi+4ing about how Butch lost to Dooley.

CBJ 2.0 for sure!

Um... not even close. For one, he actually played the game at a high level. Brohm took a roster among the worst in college football, installed his system, hired his staff, then led them to 6 wins. They were competitive in every loss... and blew out a team that just blew out UT.

Jones washed jock straps for the Bucs. He used his roster and system installation as an excuse for 2 or 3 years. He lost at least one game in his first year to a team he should have beaten according to talent and was blown out in 4 of his 7 losses.

In his 4 seasons as a HC, Brohm has proven he can make a team better than the sum of its talent. In Jones' 5 years at UT underachieved the sum of his talent every year.

Brohm won championships at WKU. Not ties. Not imaginary ones. Not excuses. He took a team that Petrino made "good"... and made it much better.

The bottom line is that Jones has never been accused of being a great football mind. Brohm is.

Jeff is about as solid a guy and football mind as there is. He was on the UAB staff in 2012 as OC and QB coach and somehow made that offensive group at least competitive. We knew when he went to WKU he'd be successful and he did exactly that. He made Purdue a tough out after just one year.

Give him UT's resources and watch him work.

The difference between this google coach and the previous 2 google coaches is, I actually liked what I read when I googled him.

We could do much much worse.

I followed him this year, seemed like a promising up and comer... just didn't think we were going to have to go that route...

I’m in! Anyone not named Kiffin seals the deal for me. Sorry if isn’t a popular stand but don’t buy into LK has matured to the point we turn over the reins of UT AGAIN!

If you had to Google Brohm, you don't follow football very closely.

He might not have the big name, but I think he'll be a GREAT hire. My only concern is if the Louisville job opens up, we may be back in the coaching carousel. Assuming he does a good job and we move past this whole mess, UT should be very appealing to whoever we may target next.

Though, seeing how Currie/Haslam went about all this, that might be Art Briles.
