I;m not so sure that I agree with that statement. He told Ole Miss exactly how many years he needed to get the program where he wanted it. They cut him one short, and there waiting on the field, was a teamCoach O can recruit and is a decent position coach. He just cant HC worth a crap.
It's actually from Mike Bianchi @ the Orlando Sentinel. Feel free to message him or leave a comment.
Coach Kiffin leaves rotten impression -- OrlandoSentinel.com
I can appreciate how all opposing fans are looking at this with an outside perspective, I would do the same thing if another coach said some of the things as CLK. But the way I look at it is CLK called out CUM. Even though there is no rule about calling a recruit when they are on another campus, CUM still got called out for it. I would imagine that there is an "unwritten rule" that this is something you shouldn't do. I will bet you anything that CUM felt stupid when the news surfaced and ran to the AD. Most coaches including CLK tell their recruits/commitments to enjoy themselves and take all the visits that they can b/c it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. There are some coaches(not going to mention any names) that discourage there recruits from visiting other campuses or is it just UT. My question is why? And why coach would you call a recruit on another campus when he has already said that he is 100% committed to you? What are you so worried about?
As far as the recruiting violations go, give me a F'ing break. When I see these published, whether it be for UT or any other school I read right over them and forget about them tomorrow, unfortunately the media will not let us forget.

Coach Kiffin leaves rotten impression

Running off at the typewriter ...
How bad is it when an entire city is now protesting your college football coach?
And how bad is it when even your own athletic director essentially calls your football coach a liar?
Just ask University of Tennessee fans. In the last week, new coach/pathological liar Lane Kiffin has become the laughing stock of the entire country.
It was bad enough when the Pahokee Chamber of Commerce officially penned a letter of protest for derogatory remarks Kiffin made about Pahokee High School in the wake of signing Pahokee receiver Nu'Keese Richardson last week.
Then comes this: In the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, Kiffin claims he fired one UT employee and others had been "run off" because they could not keep up with his hectic work schedule. One problem: When the Knoxville News Sentinel checked on the story, UT Athletic Director Mike Hamilton said, "He has not fired anybody. If he said he has fired somebody, that's not true."
So let's review, shall we?
In the last few days, Kiffin has falsely accused Florida Coach Urban Meyer of breaking NCAA rules, broken NCAA rules himself, instructed a recruit to lie to the media, lied to the media himself, been reprimanded by the SEC, impugned the integrity of Pahokee High School, been forced to issue public apologies to Pahokee High and UF and, last but not least, proven Al Davis to be somewhat sane after all.
Points out one wise reader: With Lane Kiffin in charge, Rocky Top is starting to smell more and more like Rotten Top.
Its obvious that all these "Football Experts" on here really don't know what they are talking about.Example#1 These experts are saying that we are embarrassing our University by these violations, Which in turn the media keeps churning out neg press. If all these so called "fans of UT" would educate themselves they would stop being lured to these neg stories, which in turn would stop the neg press.Fact#1 EVERY DIV I SCHOOL LAST YEAR REPORTED SECONDARY VIOLATIONS. The average was 7 relating to Football programs across the country. I did this research on my own since I'm home recovering from back surgery, nothing else to do.Anyway Fact#2 This neg press is being driven by the old guard that didn't want to see any change. That's the problem u have when someone is in position of leadership for long period of time.People DON'T LIKE CHANGE. Example#2: Has anyone noticed how many college players are being suspended or kicked off teams across the country for violating state laws (ieUI,etc)Fact#1: When was last time its been this quiet around UT with no players getting into trouble.Fact#2:That's what causes embarrassment to the University. People need to admit that CPF did not have control of the program. That's not going to be a problem now.The coaching staff we have in place now is going to win a lot of games and clean up the discipline problems we have had in the past. The Fulmer supporters need to get over the fact that he is not coming back and get on the Lane Train or find another team. For the ones that are easily swayed, Don't let the media brainwash you into believing that the program can only be run by who THEY think is best for the job.We will be just fine. Are we going have secondary violations, sure just like every other football program, embarrassment Please. When we start reading about our players in the Police blotter then you can talk embarrassment.DON'T LET THE MEDIA INFLUENCE WHAT YOU FEEL IS BEST FOR THE PROGRAM. Go Vols
