Urban Meyer

Fulmer should've beaten him last year and the year before. Ya know what they say though... third time's the charm.

I definitely don't expect Krispy to get the job done in Gainseville.. We'll see where the program is this fall before I agree with you Ricky. This might be Krispy's final season if he folds like he did in '05..

Urban Meyer isn't God. Everyone looks at Florida like they are high and mighty. It was the same with Spurrier when he was there. And yes, Florida is beatable. And hopefully the Vols will beat Florida this next season, and LSU also.

I hope many of you aren't coming to the realization of beating Meyer in Gainseville.. You guys are setting yourselves up for serious fall if you've got fixations about winning in the swamp next fall.

Are you about to threaten to make another bet?

I can't see us winning in Gainesville next year, but if Fulmer has at least 2 more home games vs them I would be surprised if he loses 6 straight. In fact, 4 straight in this rivalry is highly unlikely.

I'll never bet on a game that Krispy's involved in.. I'm just saying we're going to have to improve significantly on both sides of the ball to assume a victory in Gainesville. Chief isn't giving me a whole lot of confidence talking about a possible 3-4 alignment due to personnel issues.

Fulmer's record against rivals is stellar; we can always compare him to, say, Johnny Majors against Alabama.:p

That said, Meyer's offensive playbook is a tricky one to say the least. I have a copy of 2002 Bowling Green as well as a partial 2004 Utah, and there's minimal overlap between the two. The guy knows how to scheme and maximize what his personnel do on the offensive side of the ball.

For UT to beat Florida, it will require the same stuff as beating Florida under Spurrier. Force sporadic throwing, neutralize the running game, and erupt offensively. It'll take 21+ points to even think about a win, and the more wide-open that Florida will be with Tebow as the full-time starter may push that number to 28 or even higher.

They are not running a 3-4 come fall.

I don't think any fan in their right mind has ASSUMED a win in Gainesville for the past 20 years.

I'm not buying into that either. We might throw it in as a wrinkle occasionally, but I doubt we'll see very much of it at all.

When you have Henderson and Haynesworth and you don't use it, why would we now use it, especially with the inexperience we have? And the 3-4 requires bigger ends and all linemen in the 3-4 have to be knowledgable enough to make reads and protect 2 gaps. Plus, we had some issues at times stopping the run w/four down linemen, so going to 3, I don't think, would really help that.

Notice I said possible.. Chief mentioned the possibility due to the depth up front. We're just not strong enough or deep enough to run a 4-3 over the complete duration of a game. There's gonna have to be some major improvements for that to happen. He's giving it consideration because he believes our linebackers will be the strength of our defense next year.

Man, this is depressing. I think I will check into one of those cryogenic places with instructions to thaw me out at the beginning of football season. Pessimism is starting to prevail on this board.:banghead2:

Excuse me, but didn't I read somewhere that the Gators are losing something like 14 starters from last years title team? If so, who should be the underdog?
