Update on Reese, McKnight & Mostella

I disagree completely that Mostella is our biggest need, even if cleared I don't see him starting and probably only averaging ~15-20mpg. I think the health of Ian Chiles, and clearance of McKnight are actually both more important for the teams success THIS YEAR.

He was referencing Mostella as the highest rated and McKnight as the biggest need. Not Mostella as both.

Not that Tyndall could have done much else to fix it, but this recruiting class has potential to be a bust. Could just as easily go the other way if everyone is cleared though.

Yup, was thinking the same. Mostella and McKnight could both never play a game for Tennessee, and Chiles may not get to 100% in time to be totally effective this season.

Yeah being left without any bigs makes McKnight very important.

I'm not a doctor or anything but he should be 100% healed by practice one. Hernia surgeries can take anywhere from 21-90+ days, Ian Chiles will get healthy this year. The surgery is performed on his lower abdomen, so it really shouldn't be a dragging injury unless the doctors had no idea what to do.

They've already been "practicing" so he's definitely not full go by practice 1. Being a point guard with 12 new teammates ideally you would get every second possible with those guys, Chiles is not getting that, as Tyndall said each day that passes he's falling behind.

You argue the stupidest points sometimes just to be a dick haha. You know what I meant by practice one. Not summer session 1.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, I was being honest. Tyndall himself said that each one of these workouts Chiles misses he falls another day behind. I understand it's not the official start of practice, but it's still an important time for players to gel and improve, especially when you consider the position he plays and that it's his first year.

So Mostella starts game 1 in your opinion?

Guessing you missed Tyndall's thoughts on Mostella? Said he has a million miles to go before he's a SEC player...

Considering he has to keep the spotlight off this kid and keep him humble and hungry I can see that. But yeah he starts day one. His prep background will help him transition quicker than most. But T is not going to label him the next Jordan during interviews.

I don't think he starts day 1, we will see...

Please elaborate on the obvious hole in my argument. I said practice one instead of summer session one. Oh no

I understand what you meant, but you made it sound like his current inactivity wouldn't have any effect for the upcoming season, and that's not true. Also, if Jeronne Maymon has taught us anything, a temporal estimate of a return from injury is just that - an estimate.
