Uniform

Opinion..

I prefer the "Tennessee orange" jersey and white pants for home games and all white for away games for two reasons. 1. They're the official colors but more importantly, 2. they're the best looking uniforms in all of football...college or pro, especially during daylight hours and even more so if the sun is shining. To me no uniforms are as beautiful.

Having said that if it's important for recruiting purposes and for player happiness I have no problem with the alternate but limit their use to night games.

If the players love them then have at it but I would still like the smokey gray once a year too.

I liked them. I liked how we used them against Carolina to ensure our teams motivation. Our players also liked them. I’d have preferred a white outline on the orange numbers but overall thought they looked pretty good

Even though I'm generally open to uniform variations, I gotta say, the visuals of the black unis just didn't do anything for me. A little disappointing because I expected them to. Maybe it was just me or maybe they should have been rolled out with a bigger venue, I don't know, but I was underwhelmed. I think they should have been saved for Ole Miss or GA. What say you?
What I think doesn’t matter, it’s about the players and recruits! If they like em, I’m fine!

1) I’m ok with any color uniform if we win. 2) we are 3-2 and getting ready to face the toughest tests. 3). Lighter colors do shed heat better. 4) looked like “black face” to me. I was kinda schocked. White helmets, glove, and shoes with black shirts and pants and minimal orange trim. 5) I prefer orange and white day games and orange and black or grey at night games. 6). We all have our opinions. Glad we won and getting better.

I didn't like the black uni's at all, my college aged son loved them and that's what matters. I would like to see a orange helmet with a white power T at some point.

If the uniform change made the players/recruits happy, I'm all for it. It really doesn't matter what we think, as long as the players like them. I did hear a drunk cock fan coming in, he felt the need to scream "wearing black feels pretty good doesn't it vols." ....Didn't much care for that....

Should have Nancy Kerriganed the bastage.

hated the black unis, but I think the black on black was too much, I did like the black jerseys when Kiffin was here.

as far as alternative unis, smokey gray is still my favorite and really liked the helmets that went with them.

I tend to like gray better than black. Of course, nothing beats orange. I do think the players voices need to be heard. Pull out gray and black once a year or in rotating years.

Everyone will have their own opinion. Now you have mine.
They should not say nothing and come out warm up in all orange and regular helmet against Ole Miss then run through the T with orange pants black jersey boom .

I didn't care either way. If recruits liked it, I like it. My middle school-aged boys weren't huge fans but I think a night game would've helped.

The players love them and that’s what matters. Get a black helmet, and use them for a big night game once per year.

Well the good thing is you’ll probably see another rendition of something before the season is over.

I look at the black unis just like I do the current crop of cars with everything blacked out, wheels, grill, every piece of trim. I wouldn't buy one that looked that way, but nobody cares what I want.

If they add a chrome face mask... Or bumper??

Would’ve been a lot better at night, but IMO nothing is better than orange on orange.

Every time the camera zoomed in on Hendon Hooker it looked like he was burning up. Maybe he just sweats a lot, but black is not a good idea if you want to keep cool.

I thought the same thing. He was pouring sweat.

Black helmet with an orange T would’ve been bad @$$ if you’re gonna wear black unis. If the kids like it and it amps them up, do it from time to time. In the end, nothing matters more than winning football games.

The white helmets provided too much contrast for me. The helmets should be orange or black.

The helmets were supposed to be black…., BUT…. There currently is a shortage of football helmets and they were unable to get the black ones…. I think I heard that on the Doug Matthews show

Ok, watching the replay on SEC now. It's the white helmets--they just throw everything off. If black helmets weren't available, would the smokey grays already on hand maybe have been better? Just curious.
