Does no good to have the Crimea when you have no way of actually supplying it. He needs the land routes to be able to support what's going on.
OT- is it against the law to impersonate military personnel?
Kinda sorta. It's not something that is typically enforced and the law is really vague. Falls under 18 USC SS 702.
The Stolen Valor Act had a lot more teeth before it was ruled Unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
Making the claim is not illegal. Depends on whether or not the person is doing it for financial or personal gain.
Ok. Thank you.
I just watched a video of a guy at a college in Cali dressed up as a ranger with 101st airborne tabs. Showing a E8 rank and EOD? Tab I believe. A ex-ranger lost it on his ass
When Two Vets Confront a Man in Fake Military Gear, Its On: ?I Am a U.S. F***in? Ranger & This Guy Is Not!?
Didn't want to start a thread on it because of language but I found it very disrespectful to the "real rangers"
Thanks again grand
If Western governments hope to steer Ukraine clear from the most unsavory characters in Moscow and Kiev, they will need to wage a two-pronged diplomatic offensive: against Putin's propaganda and, at the same time, against Ukraine's resurgent far-right.
The fact is, like it or not, Ukraine is almost certainly better off without Crimea than with it. Nothing weakens a nation more than holding territory whose residents prefer to belong to another country.
Though they may be difficult for all relevant parties to accept, the premises of a solution to the Ukrainian mess are clear: 1) The new constitution should provide for a federal structure of government giving at least as many rights to its provinces as American states have; 2) The Russian language must be given equal status with Ukrainian; and 3) There must be guarantees that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO, or any other military alliance that excludes Russia.
And the United States? The American government should follow the physicians admonition: Above all, do no harm. Public polemics are not helpful and should be kept at a minimum. Sanctions promised should be applied. But American diplomats should not try to lead the Western effort to deal with Russia but rather should keep in close touch with the various negotiations in progress and give diplomatic support to those that seem most promising.
read all eleven points hereMost significantly, McCains plan is to bring into NATO as many countries as possible as quickly as possible so that the possibility that the US will not go to war at the behest of Georgia or some other chihuahua nation in the region will be legally impossible. Every little corner of the former Soviet world who pokes Russia should have the instant backing of the entire US nuclear arsenal.
It is moral hazard on methamphetamine.
