Found out I'm going to Afghanistan in April to cover the elections
Who is the purported they behind "NATO imperialism"?
Pretty sweet gear. Someone enlighten me: if you're a foreign mercenary (including US) going to a region where US and/or NATO forces are, do you have to have some sort of permit or contract? I know the private security forces (which I consider mercenary) have been contracted, but what about an individual?
I hope this isn't a dumb question. I legitimately don't know.
You would need a legitimate contract to perform the contract type work if I'm understanding your question correctly. You just don't drop into country and try to pick up a job.

Definitely. However, it seems that most of those contracts go to ex-military(or something similar). Not really sure if some random person can just join. Who knows haha
Depends on the company and the position applied for. Most if not all of your VIP security guys are former special ops guys in some form or fashion. But they do have just normal line animals that guard warehouses, drive trucks, etc. And it's not always military that fill those positions.
Since Ukraines independence in 1991, the United States has supported Ukrainians as they build democratic skills and institutions, as they promote civic participation and good governance, all of which are preconditions for Ukraine to achieve its European aspirations. Weve invested over $5 billion to assist Ukraine in these and other goals that will ensure a secure and prosperous and democratic Ukraine.
In seriousness, I know we spent a good sum of money on disarmament.
"It's very important to respond, and to respond in the right way, not necessarily to impose sanctions on Russia but to help Ukraine financially," Soros said. "Something like a European Marshall Plan for Ukraine."
Although it didn't say, I'm thinking that must have been a nice chunk of it
As for future assistance,
