Ukraine Protests

From the above article

EU nations once under Soviet occupation, such as Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the Czech Republic, went into the talks demanding support for US proposals for sanctions against Russia.
Germany, Italy and a group of other countries with close economic ties with Russia, including a dependency on Russia gas supplies, took a softer line expressing EU divisions that are expected to emerge again later in the week.

We are now 2 hours from the deadline for Ukrainian forces to surrender in Crimea.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I wish the best for the common folk in the Ukraine. Putin is crazy enough and careless enough, in my opinion to do just about anything other than maybe an unprompted nuclear war. Thank god. Seriously.

Just so there's no confusion, I think Obama's handling of Syria mixed. For one, he didn't risk feet on the ground and given his actions in Libya, one wonders how the right would have criticized more "unnecessary spending" amid the rising debt. Nonetheless, to the point many of you have been making, yes, the "line in the sand" was ridiculous. He handled that miserably.

Also, Benghazi was handled miserably. Although I've heard that the embassy had denied additional protection (take that for what you will), the administration's handling of the aftermath was detestable.

No. The handling of the situation on the ground was detestable. The handling/lies of the aftermath was less than despicable.

If ole' Vlad doesn't start getting a bit smarter domestically, the last laugh will be on him.

If I were Putin I would probably gamble like Germany did in 1937-1938 in absorbing Austria and Czechoslovakia not believing the other powers(then France and Great Britain)would do anything about it. I would go ahead and occupy the Ukraine if I were him.

haha! Sure, he could do that, but may not be the smartest path to follow.
