while digging through some of my pics from my trip I decided to post a few of the more relevant ones. The info card was from a memorial to all the "others" killed in the war. also included pictures of the US and Russian embassy.

The US government will not unveil any additional data concerning last year’s crash of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine, Mary Harf, spokeswoman for the US State Department, said during a briefing on Wednesday.

"We’ve given information to the investigators if we thought it was relevant," Harf said. "At the time, I remember us actually putting out maps. And those maps included where we believed, where we had evidence that this missile was fired from."

what do you want the US to do? we know about it and.... unlike the Russians, Germans and French we weren't part of the peace talks (nor should we have been). the peace talks gave no way of enforcing peace to those that signed it, offered no penalties either. Russia is the only one who has talked about upping the game.

We didn't need to be there if our views were represented by the other countries.

And us sending troops and hardware to Ukraine immediately after the truce wasn't upping the game?

you mean 100 troops to the WESTERN side of Ukraine. and the hardware was already in place to be shipped out whether or not the agreement was signed. and remember the agreement was signed and thanks to Russia it didn't go into effect until 2 weeks later....hmmm. seems like weapons were what they needed, but we sent them night vision goggles and mortar round tracking equipment. If the peace talks had held why would it have mattered if we sent in a training group?

No I mean the 300 we sent along with Humvees.

Does that reflect a peaceful move? No, it only cements the fact that we don't want peace.

let he who desires peace prepare for war. if we make the Ukrainians strong enough there would be peace when the other side no longer thinks they are worth the risk/losses. and if you can show me proof of our soldiers doing fighting instead of training i might believe you. and don't post the 50 year old retiree. we don't have whole regiments "volunteering" like Russia does.

So when we do a joint exercise with an entire MEU of Marines (~1300) in Thailand with the Thai military... are we preparing for war with Vietnam? I mean, Vietnam doesn't participate in Cobra Gold so surely we want war with Vietnam again.

It's a training exercise, try-hard.

By ignoring the issues of gay rights all together but portraying the attacks like Kiev is on fire and burning to the ground, the govt. unable to create stability.

I can't remember where it appeared, but I recall reading an article a year or so ago that discussed how one of Russian media's main aims in this conflict is to portray Kiev as unstable as possible (without outright lying), its new government unable to deliver on its promises. This would then create the illusion that the Russian-controlled govt. before was much better and much more desirable, so why not go back to it, sort of thing.

After a couple months of relatively unorganized and effete attempts, I see that our resident Kremlin Gremlins are back in full force.

On a related note, is anyone else in here experiencing more incidents of psychosis?
