i think another thing they take into consideration is that they are in control down there. as long as that the tension continues its a magnet for trouble that could otherwise spring up elsewhere.

and i think they have had a few other lover spats with some of their central asian states as well. who knows they might have independence movements on a couple of their borders.

“Kadyrov has done everything to rebuild the republic, everything is thanks to him,” said a former member of one of Kadyrov’s militias in an interview in Grozny over the weekend. “But if you’ve read anything of Caucasus history, you’ll know this is unlikely to be the end. We can never trust Russia, and there is sure to be more trouble in the future.”
:whistling: CIA operation in the works fellas

He blamed gossiping women for spreading rumours about the marriage using WhatsApp and called on men to ensure their female family members did not spend time using the app.

“Lock them in, do not let them go out, then they will not post anything,” he said, according to translation from Chechen language by Russian media.

“Family honour is the most important thing. Do not write such things. Men, take your women out of WhatsApp.”
thats some mighty fine freedom they have going on over there. good thing the CIA is already at work sewing the seeds of discourse.

i liked that final paragraph about why Russian's don't follow their own laws. made me giggle.

RU media: "RU Federation council plans to announce annexation of Transnistria"

Why should Ukraine or Moldova be forced to help support the enemy that occupies both countries sovereign territory?

From my understanding, I believe Transnistria depends on the RF for protection. Ukraine and Moldova are making it hard for soldiers/equipment to get to Transnistria via land in Ukraine and via air in Moldova. Russians take exception obviously.

that doesn't answer the question of why they should support the action? it might explain why Russia wants to annex (if true) but not why the other two countries should allow it.

I'll believe it when I see it. The Russian govt. is as loopy as Pacer, but social media is social media.

I don't know that answer. Obviously there is bad blood and a tug of war over interests in the area...
