in this case it is hard for them to decide. I believe one side is more Pro-American than the other while the other side is more Anti-Russian than the other. doesn't really matter though as we will get the blame no matter what.

France is considering scuttling the two Mistrals that were to be sold to Russia. That is crazy, why not offer them to fellow NATO nations at a reduced price instead of just wasting all that money?

May not have a buyer or a need. Being an amphibious assault ship, not many navies might have that specific capability.

But as for wasted funds, it appears Russia already paid:

So scuttling them isn't really going to cost anyone a dime. But I'd be willing to bet they will be mothballed for a future date instead of being sunk.

Wouldn't be suprised to see an offensive during the parade. Have all the citizens of the russian world focused on the ceremony while putin orders the siege of mariopul, seems like something he'd do
