Ukraine Protests

I imagine there will be an uptick in non-ceasefire activities.

One question is how much that's the doing of the separatists, and how much is orchestrated from Moscow?

Now that Nemtsov is out of the way, we are marching to Kiev!

Moscow, of course...

Yes, it's true. The American attempt to create a color revolution in Russia by assassinating Nemtsov and pinning it on the Russians failed.

I would expect another assassination in the coming month or two. This one will surely be another failed American attempt at a coup in Russia.

Can't hold them Russians down, that's for damn sure.

The lapdogs step up.

If fighting continues do we all agree it is time for the West to start arming Ukrainian forces?

i have never really had a problem with it. country asks for something, and if our elected officials agree to it, why not? (assuming we aren't violating any treaties) in this case we would be upholding a treaty. i don't think we should be giving them heavy military vehicles, but small arms and some of the non-self propelled arty, AT and mortars sure.

No. Under no circumstances should we as long as they don't start pushing towards Odessa or Kiev.

Now, what would really be interesting is if this Russia/Iran SAM deal goes through is if Israel were to decide to do a little arming of Ukraine. And, honestly, I think they would be completely justified in doing it. Russians are selling a system to Iran, a nation that has vowed to eradicate Israel and Israelis (whether serious about it or not), that would basically nullify any Israeli capabilities to destroy Iranian nuclear capabilities, should it reach that stage.

And honestly, if it happens, we should go ahead and go forth with the missile shield in Europe. Afterall, it's like Lavrov said, these missiles Russia is selling to Iran are only defensive in nature. Why can't ours be as well?

Well, I was thinking motorcycles specifically. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Red Army had any.

Ah. no idea on that.

looks like they did have them. doesn't say anything about numbers (*actually it does 9,399) or where they were used, except to say they were designed to help fight the Germans. IMZ-Ural - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cossack motorcycles. Well I be damned. As my wife constantly has to remonstrate me, "Google is your friend." Well done, Louder.

That's the problem. If you want till they are at the walls of Kyiv and its to the point where arms wouldn't matter.
