Ukraine Protests

Europeans, amongst others, are tired of our warmongering, global dominating ways. The puppet leaders and MSM don't represent the voice of these people.

Wars for profit is getting old.

Do you have polling data for this? You're painting a broad generalization there with no data to back this up. Seeing very few mass demonstrations against any of this. While there are some who do speak out, we're not talking mass protests that shift public policy.

The wonderful aspect of the West is that these who disagree have the ability to come out throwing eggs if they choose. Try this in Russia and you disappear. Even a peaceful protest gets stomped out. Some young kids dared to show Ukrainian colors at the Crimea love fest last week. All they did was stand there. They were dragged off and called treasonous, charged with disorderly conduct. A person stood by himself protesting the fascist gathering over the weekend. Russian law allows for a single person to "protest". The police had two people walk up to this protester and then proceeded to arrest this person. This among many other examples is what happens in Russia. Good thing they are not fascist but the West is right?

Oh good lord, I just watched the RT video and the really had pictures of Strykers side by side with Wehrmacht soldiers in Prague in 1939.

I guess they overlooked these:

I've got 99 problems, and 5 American APCs rolling through the Czech Republic and taking a bunch of photos with locals ain't one of them.

Interesting read on the interplay between the Russian government and the Orthodox Church. #BigPicture #RusskyMir

Russia's Orthodox Soft Power

A means to an end to galvanize his support among the people. Stalin did this halfway through WWII. Knowing the people were still religious, some even very superstitious, he played on that thinking to win over the hearts and minds - make this about God and country and the people will love you. Putin did not get much traction until he used this tactic. Now the messiah complex is kicking in. When you hear even the media using the phrase "Third Rome" of late you know this is a planned effort on Vlad's part. This man is a student of history and of what he learned from his KGB/Stasi days. He is applying it and doing it well. He saw what worked for Hitler and Stalin and what did not for the Tsars that failed. Russia is heading down a dark path and the only way to recover will be something very dramatic.

the whole article was just listing the crimes and punishments IF something happened. and it quoted ONE lady saying they did not want the tanks there. good thing its just a parade and we already know when they will be there and when they will be gone. I guarantee you we do this same parade outside of the Pentagon or one of the military academies here in the US and you would have more people out complaining about a bunch of tanks driving through the neighborhood.

you dug very deep for so little gain.

Lol at terrorist controlled areas. The wording of MSM is hilarious...

well this is what would be called journalism, finding out the facts and using those. In this case they are referencing the home country's opinion on the matter, which is likely the most relevant opinion out there on the matter. But i can see why an RT follower would be confused by this.

So, if the US paraded tanks, APC's through the middle of Washington, D.C. and demonstrators threw eggs or tomatoes at them, this would go unpunished? Is this what you're saying?!

No confusion here kool aid drinker. The hypocrisy of your statement is hilarious. Home countries opinion, likely the most relevant, RT follower.

Jim Jones would be proud of your sacrifice..

Did I say that? I didn't say they would not be punished. I said the response would be different. And even being allowed to protest at all would be available here which it would not in Russia. I can hold signs outside the White House criticizing Obama. I can stand on the side of the street as his motorcade passes. In Russia, you are dragged off quickly and charged with all sorts of crimes including treason.

i looked it up, there have been no reported incidents for the US military. but i expanded to police parades, and nothing for as little as vegetables, water ballons or even shoes (honestly who throws a shoe) as long as no one is hurt. however throwing concrete blocks can get you arrested.

throwing stuff kinda goes against the whole "peaceful protest" thing that is protected by the Constitution so i don't see what the issue would be.

and why would throwing stuff at the soldiers be a good thing as far as promoting peace. you are just pissing off the soldiers, i doubt the policy makers even hear of the incident, or care if they did. you are protesting the wrong thing (parade vs politics) sure the europeans can't do that as much as we can, but i don't see how protesting the soldiers does anything. I thought we as society had moved past the Vietnam era and could see the person over the uniform. (protest the war, celebrate/welcome the soldiers is how it should be)

"The victim cries foul, the victor says fair." Of course Russia calls them "vacationers" who have no legal status what so ever and therefore can act violently however they want with no political blow back. in other countries we would call that terrorism (chechens were labeled as such when fighting for their freedom)

Putin offered to circumcise his Chechen "terrorists" who were separatists. Maybe Poroshenko should just take the Putin line. Use his quotes. Use his strategy. What worked for Putin should work for Poroshenko, right?

So Russian General Lentsov said his delegation including OSCE monitors came under sniper fire near Shirokino today. OSCE released a statement that they came under no fire. They heard gunfire in the distance but none directed at them. Does this mean Lentsov's credibility is shot and this was an attempt at provoking a crisis?

Here is a good example of the Third Rome and the paranoid, warlike attitude becoming common among the Russian leaders and slowly permeating among the people:

NATO Is Marching Towards Russia, and They Have No Idea What Awaits Them - Russia Insider

Those clowns seriously think the US is going to invade Russia. That is, as I understand, a relatively popular opinion in Russia these days.

And I thought Americans were bad. Russians make the biggest American mouthbreather look like a scholar of international politics.

If we were going to invade we would have done so before hand. Obama doesn't have the cajones to invade Russia, heck we are still in a splash fight with the JV team because Obama won't step up to the plate there.

If we were going to invade it would have been before the Soviets got nuclear weapons. War with the Russians is never what we wanted.

This is also coupled with the Russian approach of not abandoning Russians (ethnic or cultural) and allies, as opposed to Anglo society where back stabbing allies when the opportunity to earn exists, is a prized skill.
wait, the very 'warlike' nature of supporting our allies is used in the same article in a condemning way (warlike) then conveniently forgotten when it comes to this quote.

Russia's army may be only 1 million but the ready reserve is over 20 million with a follow capability of total mobilization of over 40 more million, and maybe more if one starts counting female combatants and one should.
wat? 20 million total would be an unsustainable number. heck they can't even maintain the 1 million they have.

In WW2 the Germans were on average having 1 soldier killed every 30 seconds. Figure 3-4 times as many wounded.

The present serving armies of NATO would be used up in 3-4 months. That would amount to almost a million and a half dead and wounded.
so warfare hasn't evolved at all? the 50s,60s,70s,80s,90s,00s didn't exist at all? if this is their thinking they are in trouble.

Also if things got bad China would step in knowing they are next on the hit list, and thus Siberia would be fairly safe from US forces.
wat? if the Chinese stepped in to kick out American invaders at the oil fields they would just keep it. and its a terribly long way from a military base in China into the deep Siberian wilderness. and China has no history of projecting military prowess beyond their borders.

The reality, Americans, Germans, and foolish Poles, is, Russians will fight and 152 million people will fight to the end, not because Putin sits in power, or because we fear the enemy, but because love of Russia, the very idea of Russia, will drive fanatical, well trained and armed with advanced weaponry resistance. Russians will fight regardless of who sits the throne, because we are not fighting for the leader but for Christ and for Russia, the land He gave us as the Third Rome. What exactly will you be fighting for?
Ok this ignores the Brits, Fins and Swedes as well as a few other token forces we would have. and does the last two sentences terrify anyone else? that line of thinking is scary. and the German's Third Reich was also their attempt to recreate Roman glory, so i would be careful there.

and again when has America shown they wanted to invade Russia?
