I agree wholeheartedly, but the fact he was gunned down in front of the kremlin leaves room for conspiracy, if you get my drift?!

Ras and Pacer don't know much Russian history, so they're still learning. But once they learn about the bombings, look out.

If that isn't "Hey, our president bombed our asses, but we kind of like it because we're sycophants" then I don't know what is.

Russians won't even bat an eyelash at this due to their media coverage, but can you imagine how Americans would react?

There would be rioting in the streets.

Putin sanctioned? Doubtful. It draws way to much heat to him even thought his give-a ****-ometer wouldn't peg into the red.

Someone within the Putin camp? Very likely. Draws heat away from Putin while getting the job done. However, unless it was given the go ahead by Putin, I'd expect a car full of people to disappear soon. He gets to reap the rewards, but wouldn't want the heat.

Opposition? Not as likely, but plausible. The only reason why they would is to draw attention to Putin in an effort to discredit him.

If the opposition in Russia has been killing their own members to draw attention to their needs, they've been doing a piss poor job of it.

Won't be many of them left after too long. Better make sure the killings really count from now on.

What an amazing country Russia could be if not for constantly having crazy ass leaders. Even Yeltsin was on the crazy side.

It's a pity. It would be a wonderful place for people to visit.

I know it has a lot to do with the existential anxiety it has always suffered due to its unfavorable geography and (as a consequence) constant invasions, but you would think at some point someone would come along to be like, "Hey, fellow Russians, wake the **** up! The world is no longer out to get us."

It really is sad. What could have been.

I can agree with all of those scenarios. All possible, but I'd place the biggest percentage on the last two...

Seriously, why would Putin kill one of his rivals this openly? If everything you guys have been saying about Putin having total control, why risk martyring his opposition? Of course, maybe he DGAF. I don't know, but it doesn't make sense for a guy as calculated as he is portrayed, to want to deal with the fallout.

I'm not saying he didn't do it, I'm just trying to make sense of the move.

Russians don't care about a dead opposition leader. Westerners already know Russia is a corrupt country.

Why not have him killed?

Like I speculated earlier, maybe he wants to send a direct message to dissuade future opposition? I just don't think a hit against one of the top opponents happens without the Kremlin being somewhat in on it.

Can't have it both ways. They can't say that he's sneaking troops into Ukraine covertly but then assassinates an alleged critic so overtly.

We will have to see about this as more info comes out.

But you're not tricking me, you little tricker.

You only want the US military to retreat so your forces can start to move in in eastern Europe and East Asia.

You can talk about freedoms all you want, but I've seen you. I've seen what you really value. It's a very narrow vision of things.
