Ukraine Protests

Siberia. Plenty of untapped resources. Other than the strip on either side of the Trans-Siberian railway, the Russians have barely touched that area.

I'll have a thousand acre plot in the Siberian Taiga for myself please.

That's what I was thinking as well. They have neither the technology nor the manpower to completely allow it to flourish.

Poor Siberia. Will always be a dump.

You've obviously never spent a night in Chita like I have.

Well, let me tell you...

Was referring mainly to the more "native" Innuit-like women. Naturally, if there are any Anna Kournikovas on the Steppes, I'll amend my annexation demands.

Might as well give the portions east of the Urals to the Germans. We'll split the Urals down the middle and take the remainder for ourselves.

Hard to tell. Sometimes Merkel is a hard liner, other times you wonder WTF. That's just one of the leaders, but likely the one to establish herself as a leader among the European nations. Honestly, where Germany goes, the rest of Europe and the UK will likely follow.

As for this country, I think it's clear where my thoughts would lie on the matter.

There is a very good reason why she seems to be wishy-washy. you basically have 2 factions fighting for control in Germany: the big bankster interests that are tied in with the other western centralized banks and the pride of Germany which are the industrial and manufacturing interests. German industry knows that the German economy cannot survi ve without Russian energy and nuclear power. You also have about 3000 German companies that have direct business with Russia, so obviously, they are not going to be supporting the sanctions against Russia. At some point, the German banking interests will run out of time and run out of influence. The global economy with all of the toxic debt and derivatives will topple Duetchbank and the likes, while the pride of Germany (their manufacturing base) will win out. Germany is one of the few countries in the West that did not sellout and go hog wild on exporting all of their manufacturing to the lowest bidder in the Third World.

Merkel is trying to walk a tight rope and appeas. both sides. That is why I believe the only saving grace that can come out of this Ukraine debacle is if Germany is able to get the Minsk agreement realized.

I'm going to be honest with you. If I can't have all of Siberia, then I don't want a damn thing.

The Urals are kind of the border with greater Russia and Siberia.

Kind of nice carving up a country and playing Putin isn't it?

You guys can have the territory, give me all the military equipment for future use :hi:

You've defeated Tolstoy, Bur.

His great trap was to get you stupid Americans to think that land was everything. That land was enough for a man.

I don't buy it. I still want to see big globs of land mass on that map, when I look at the Republic of the United States of America.

If Russia is going to put boots on the ground to take a stand in Eastern Ukraine, we will know it. It will be obvious.

Yes, it is.

Merkel is the most powerful politician in Europe. I assume the Pope is the most powerful person.

Of course--the banksters!

Why does Germany need Russian nuclear power?

Again, more proof that there is no difference between the GOP and the Dems...

Totally disgusting. Who is looking out for American interests?

Just that everyone is clear, the source of that quote is a Ukrainian bulletin board.

But you be all bent out of shape Ras. Keep fighting the good fight.

US senators have decided to seek arms supplies to bypass #BarackObama for #Ukraine …http://ukraineenglishnewsforum.crea...supplies-to-bypass-obama-for-ukraine/new/#new … #USArmukraine #USArmukraine

Not sure they can do that but...

Here's the original article:

German, French leaders take Ukraine peace plan to Moscow | Reuters

In Washington, Republican Senator John McCain said U.S. lawmakers would write legislation requiring the United States to send arms to Ukraine if Obama does not do so.

Which doesn't bypass Obama, but forces his hand.

Kind of telling:

With Washington moving toward a decision soon on arming Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry also visited Kiev on Thursday. He had no plans to go to Moscow and was not involved in the Franco-German initiative, although he supported it.

A problem not yet fixed

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/06/world/europe/kerry-biden-hollande-merkel-ukraine-conflict.html

The head of the Ukrainian security service, Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, said at a news conference on Wednesday that the accused spy, Lt. Col. Mykhailo Chornobai, had been at the center of an espionage ring in the capital and had passed military secrets directly to an agent of the separatist Donetsk People’s Republic, including the locations of volunteer regiments that were then used to pinpoint artillery attacks.

Dmytro Tymchuk, a military officer and member of Parliament, said that Colonel Chornobai was among about 300 people working in the military sphere who had been arrested since the start of the conflict.

The arrest further deepened mistrust of the leadership in Kiev that is already pervasive among the poorly equipped rank-and-file soldiers and midlevel commanders fighting on the front line. And it reinforced a view prevalent on the battlefield that the military leadership cannot be trusted to manage any weapons delivered by Western allies because of their ties to the Russian military and security service, the F.S.B.

Mr. Semenchenko, in an interview before he was wounded over the weekend in heavy fighting in Debaltseve, said that on a recent visit to Washington he had urged officials to send aid directly to the front, bypassing the general staff.
