Q: Does it provide a certain degree of autonomy for the Donetsk and Lugansk regions?
Foreign Minister Lavrov: It's up to the Ukrainians themselves. We do not offer federalization or autonomy. By the way, the word "autonomy" or "decentralization" used the French President F.Olland, spoke about the autonomy and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy F.Mogerini. US Secretary of State John Kerry once asked me why they do not provide "limited autonomy". Well, in the English language has many synonyms, but is not words, but the essence. As promised, the Ukrainians from all regions and from all political parties should be delegated to meet and discuss how these regions would elect their leaders to agree on a system of distribution of taxes between the central and local authorities, which language is preferred for this or a region which they celebrate the holidays.
And all it would take is for them to pull out of worthless eastern Ukraine. Them and their weapons.
Russia is the only one that caused the death of ethnic Russians in Ukraine.
Authorities in the Central Russias Kaluga Region have banned the use of the word crisis in public and the measure is already helping to attract investors, according to the local governor.
It is possible that the crisis exists, but we forbid the use of this word, the Russian News Service (RSN) radio quoted Anatoly Artamonov as saying on Tuesday.
Wow, is that legit? If it is I'm speechless. I noticed he didn't name the 3 congressmen, I wonder who they were.
I thought this piece was also interesting (in case anyone hasn't figured out who our government works for):
5. Fifty million dollars to assist in a corporate takeover of Ukraines oil and gas sectors.
So we are responding to our allies calls for aid? are we not allowed to do that? sorry if this is actually information for information purposes but you have a history of using any chance to smear the US.
Russia wouldn't be dumb enough to start a war with NATO.
This is just posturing. However, I'm sure our Baltic allies and Poland are glad we're keeping our end of the NATO bargain.
agreed on the second part, not so sure on the first. it will be interesting, for lack of a better word, to see what Russia's economy tanking will do. Might force Putin's hand, maybe not into NATO land but could easily cause escalation in Ukraine and a few other areas.
