Ukraine Protests

The only country victimizing anyone in this conflict is one that illegally annexed sovereign territory of it's neighbor, destabilized it's neighbor by arming, training, and funding terrorists, and than basically gave the finger to the world and invaded it's peaceful neighbor to ensure it's dominance over the East of Ukraine. That country is not the United States, nor the West, but the tin-pot wannabe dictator in the Kremlin.

See, this is where years of demonizing Putin and Russia comes into play. Not once has the Russian federation shown aggression toward Ukraine. The US is behind this destablization because it wanted to weaken Russia of its Black Sea navy port in the Crimea. It's been in the works for years.
The US wants to weaken and destabilize Russia and any of its allies. We are behind the coup that removed Yanukovich from the presidency. Do a little homework. It won't be on the first page of the internet but the truth is in there.

UN inspectors went into Iraq and found no evidence of WMDs but we went in anyway without the consent of most of the world. We had an agenda to remove Sadaam just like we do with Asaad in Syria. We will stop at nothing to accomplish these things, including continuously lying to the American people.

For the record....I don't think Sadaam gassed the Kurds or the Iranians. Jmo

I have no doubt the Kurds were gassed since I served with some of the survivors. I don't think chemical weapons were the type of WMDs we were being sold on going into the war, but Sadaam definitely used them.

I did my homework, I watched for weeks and months as Yanukovich tried, unsuccessfully I might add, to break the pro-democratic and freedom loving people's spirits of EuroMaidan. I watched as his Berkut special police tried to beat the protesters into submission. That was a popular uprisings against a corrupt regime that went against what the people wanted and then tried to keep them down. Sooner rather than later the people of Russia will do the same to Putin.

This is really laughable! He wanted closer ties to the RF because it was the best option for a economically depleted country. He dissed the EU and thus the US. We then looked to remove him by any means possible. And what you have now in E Ukraine is a direct result of our meddling.

John McCain stood on a stage with neo-nazis and raised hands. It's been proven that the snipers at maiden were NOT govt or police forces. CIA at its best.

Victoria Nuland activated the special CIA/Berkut Unit, apparently.

I think he's referring to the Kiev sniper in the Hotel Ukraine that was shooting both protesters and police. Based on the evidence, the shooter was aligned with the protesters. No one knows the identity of the shooters and the current government in Kiev does not seem to want to investigate. I saw a good investigative report from a German news station several weeks back, but I've been unable to find it since.

Serious question......do you really believe thàt Russia is supplying arms to Donetsk and Lugansk, behind this unrest??

oh look Ras has friend, or an alter.

i like how the conflict that we supposedly started has ended up helping Russia, explain that one to me. The protests started because the corrupt leader (forget if he was president or PM or whatever) decided not to join the EU. (This would help the US) So protests start and people die (who killed them is a bit stinky) so this anti-anti-EU protest in Kiev somehow morphs into eastern Ukraine wanting independence and wants to crawl into bed with Russia who is really anti-EU. (This is not something the US wants) And I am supposed to believe Russia has no part in this????? How it starts and ends is not in-line with the US doing this, however it does line up nicely for the Russians.

and yes I really do think Russia has been supplying all sorts of stuff to the rebels, including troops. A lot of Russian troops 'stationed near the border- read across it' have been dying and their family knows nothing about why.

A mystery sniper overthrew the Yanukovych government?

Not directly, but it helped. According to the BBC:

But it was the deaths of at least 88 people, many of them protesters shot dead by uniformed snipers in 48 hours of bloodshed, that ultimately brought him down.

The killings sent shockwaves around the world.

Under EU pressure he signed a deal to transfer powers to parliament and hold early elections. But within hours he had fled the capital and his administration had crumbled.

A little more entailed than a riot broke out because he wasn't liked by his people. This man was democratically elected by a large margin. And because Ukraine was moving toward closer economic ties with Russia instead of the US controlled EU, we step in with our typical propaganda war against Putin and Russia. Let's demonize everything Russian including our media bashing of the Sochi Olympics. RUSSOPHOBIA EVERYWHERE!!! OH NO!!!

We(the US govt) have invested 5 billion American taxpayer dollars into maiden and the unseating of Yanukovich, per Ms "F" bomb, Victoria Nuland, herself. America has blood on its hands here yet again in its attempt to be and remain the worlds only super power.

right so there weren't peep holes in bathrooms, some athletes without bathrooms or rooms. Some countries not having as much access to courses as other, weather did have a part in this one.

and you didn't address how something 'we started' has ended up helping Russia/doing exactly what Russia wants. You act as if we are the only ones with an agenda. Russia and Putin have a history of getting involved in stuff like this, heck just look at Crimea, but i am sure Russian had nothing to do with that either, or that situation lead to Yanukovich being ousted either.

How has overthrowing Yanukovich helped Russia? If you believe the press... Russia has been crippled by international sanctions.

i might have been unclear, if so apologies. I was referring to Donetsk and Luhansk. I will add though that it really confirmed my beliefs on Yanukovich that he fled to Russia, if he had fled to the US.....

Our agenda was to purge Russia of its Black Sea port in Crimea.....simple as that. Russia's agenda has and remains defensive in nature, regardless of what US govt controlled media outlets tell you...

so even though Russia had maintained control of the port even while part of Ukraine, they had to go ahead and annex the whole region over to Russia to give them port?(was there talk of removing the port from Russian control? (begins with an S doesn't it?)) then Russia has had this stance then for all of what a year? seems like russia would have had this problem since the collapse of the USSR and somehow they have been dealing with it.

Due to the expansion of NATO, Russia has been concerned that Ukraine would also join which would make the port a NATO base. Since Russia saw the overthrow of Yanukovich as a western-backed plot, they were acting in their own interest in annexing Crimea. Having said that, Putin was certainly playing hardball with Yanukovich to get him to decline the EU proposal.
