Ukraine Protests

Not only foreign, but a fugitive. Without an election no less.

Sad..

Just think, Kiev could have told people to vote for him, intimidated dissenters and opponents, then staged gunmen outside the voting booths, and he would probably have gotten 97% approval.

Would that make you happy?

Oh noes.

I had no idea who that guy was until this week.

If they want to bring down soccer by perpetuating corruption, more power to them.

It seems that blaming the US for one's inability to properly run a country or international organization (or, in the case of FIFA, the ability to properly run it into the ground) has become acceptable practice for many around the world.

As much as Ras hates poor people, particularly those who complain that it's everyone else's fault but theirs, you would think he could see the uncanny parallel. Guess not though.

And regarding Blatter's re-election, of course he got re-elected. FIFA and its dependencies are the most corrupt sporting entity in the world. No one involved is wanting the gravy train to end, and they are particularly wanting to avoid long-term prison sentences. Keeping Blatter on, they think (but incorrectly), will hopefully continue to cover their crimes (to the tune of hundreds of millions, if not even billions and slave labor in the case of Qatar). And who's their number one supporter? You guessed it, Mr. Putin.

It will be nice watching the worms try to wriggle their way out of this one. Finally someone (US and Swiss) had the gumption to do something about it and say enough is enough.

If he had been in an actual election, he never would of gotten the position. This is how nazis change power without the snipers on buildings...

No doubt it's shady and corrupt. I'll give you that.

But, one thing you always need to remember (and which you and Ras often lose sight of), this is the "Russian world" (yes, I know it's Ukraine). Corruption is a way of life and always will be. The Russians taught them well and, in many regards, are still teaching them.

Don't hold your breath on that happening. This little scandal will do nothing to diminish the popularity of that sport.

Little scandal?

You call hundreds of millions/billions of US dollars in bribery, theft, and embezzlement, along with hundreds of slave deaths in Qatar, etc. a "little scandal"?

Do us a favor. From now on, whenever something horrible and bad happens in the world, just insert the US in it as the culprit (whether the US is involved or not). This should help you understand the gravity of the situation. Here is an example:

News headline reads, "Thousands of Political Dissenters Still in Chinese Prisons Nearly Three Decades After Tiananmen Square"

In order for you to grasp this, you can tailor this headline to read, "Thousands of Political Dissenters Still in Chinese Prisons Nearly Three Decades After Tiananmen Square Because of America."

Or, news headline reads, "Teenage Girls Raped on Subway." You can tailor it for your needs by reading, "America Rapes Teenage Girls on Subway."

This should help you finally realize the suffering still involved in any given situation.

Governors have always been appointed even dating back to Soviet times.

I could really see no problem appointing a governor/politician, but giving it to the ex-president of Georgia?

First, the man is wanted for criminal charges in his home country. Two, he isn't even a citizen of Ukraine.

I thought the soviet era was long gone and looked down upon?

He has been granted Ukrainian citizenship.

Our best hope for peace is to do some inception-like ploy on Putin, convince him to become a bicyclist, and sooner or later a Russian driver will run him over.

Et tu, Putin?

Russia reportedly pulling experts from Syria, in bid to save itself from sanctions - Haaretz Daily Newspaper

Moscow has begun to turn its back on Syrian President Bashar Assad and his regime, the London-based Arabic daily A-Sharq al-Awsat reported on Sunday.
. . .
Sources in the Syrian opposition said that Russia has evacuated 100 senior officials, including experts and strategists, through the Latakia airport. The sources said these officials including experts who had manned Assad's operations room, and that there was no plan to replace them.

I think the Syrian army is war weary and not getting replenished like ISIS is.

The above link notwithstanding, I'm not sure how much Russia is really distancing itself from Assad. But if they really are, that means America can stop funding ISIS, right? Because that's why we created ISIS--to fight a Russian ally. Allegedly.

Did it? Well close enough to loom over campus. And the issue still stands: to what extent should we have religious symbolism at public campuses.

Or really anyone, for that matter. Why make a giant graven image?

Way I read the article the land came from the city and not the university.

There will never be peace as long as our government is calling the shots in Kiev.

Russia immediately submitted satellite imagery after the crash when no one else could or would.

Now two "individual sleuths" come out almost a year later to say they are fake? Lmao

Don't ever talk about global research again after posting nonsense like this..

Something that I often wonder about, why are you so trusting of Russian/non-Western/non-MSM (and I hate that acronym because it's ethnocentric) news, political, and intelligence sources?

I know why Ras is: because he's a dingbat. But you seem halfway capable of rational thought from time to time.

I understand the questioning of our Western political, news, and intelligence sources. They're certainly worth questioning and criticism. I just don't get your blind trust for all things otherwise though.

And it seems very disingenuous if you're going to sell yourself as the populist, democratic news provider for the otherwise blind sheeple, as you have a propensity for doing on here quite often.
