Ukraine Protests

We have picked one! You just want to argue for thè sake of arguing. He's worthless to the Russian regime. Because he stood for the opposition, that is priceless to the US because of the hysteria they can create through the media...and they're trying!

So the CIA would spend time running around Moscow right under the nose of the Kremlin itself with risk of being caught to knock off some complete unknown to 99% of the world and some low key opposition leader to Putin and somehow hope that would incite a coup? What hysteria? Where? It could not create hysteria inside of Russia since Putin controls the media plus as you say this guy is small fish. To start a coup that would have to be the goal. What other place would this hysteria be created? Here in the US? For what end? How is regime change happening in Russia if some people in the US are whipped up into a frenzy? You really are delusional and need to seek counseling for these types of thoughts. I really would love to hear you lay out how this incredible plan was supposed to work though.

Maybe I'm not taking everything in provided by that clip of the murder on the bridge, but the more I look at it, the more I'm starting to wonder if the assassin actually jumps out of the snowplow when it slows down, quickly shoots, and then the car is already there.

If you think about it, it makes sense. The plow provides cover so that the assassin can never be proven to have been the one to shot, and the car comes up to pick up the assassin, but, then again, it can just look like someone getting picked up by a car. Plausible deniability, just like what happens in eastern Ukraine daily.

That's been my thought (see earlier post). The girlfriend said she did not see anyone which means the thought of someone coming from the stairwell is out the door. Either someone followed on foot or was on the truck in some way. I don't see anyone following on foot on any version of the video. Six shots went off. if someone was on a slow moving vehicle I could see two misses and four hits being probable. The couple was walking until the truck passes and stops. The gunman runs from behind the truck to the waiting car. I think the gunman was on the truck and started shooting as he approached. Once he was off I think he may have gotten at least one good shot there and then ran. I would be curious to know shell placement - where did they find the shells? Where they in a line indicating movement or close together indicating stationary placement?

The strange thing with commonality with the Politkovskaya murder is that she was hunted down by two men with a few others involved. She was hit four times - 3 going for center mass and one in the head for good measure. Nemtsov had 3 in the body and one in the head - of course there were two other shots that were misses as well. Investigators ransacked her apartment taking all her papers and computers as well. Those involved in this killing had Chechen (the Putin supporter types) and FSB connections. What was odd was the deaths of a lawyer, a journalist, and an NGO staffer who worked with Politkovskaya - some say their names would only have been connected from the documents and files pulled from her apartment in the investigation.

So you post a video of some random "economics expert" telling us how the US irresponsibly and stupidly throws theories out on who did what with no proof and then rolls into throwing out theories on who did what with no proof. He criticizes people making claims with no evidence and then does this himself. I do love how he just acts as if MH17 just got shoved under the rug and nothing else is happening and those people don't matter. This guy clearly just ignores the news altogether.

Next expert video? Keep them coming. Comedy hour is prolonged today.

Sorry. I must have missed where you said it earlier.

I was watching clips of it on CNN this afternoon again, and all of a sudden it just dawned on me: that SOB was on the truck and just jumped off. Kind of defeats the snowplow guy's "I have no clue what was going on" thing, seeing as to how it clearly slows down to let whoever off and conveniently cover it up in the process. That, or the snow plow guy we've heard from is just some dude and not the actual driver of the plow in the video.

He could have genuinely been ignorant of what was going on. He could have seen someone hanging on or heard gun shots or seen the flash. For something planned though it could be a stretch that the truck was not part of the process. The killer on foot sees a random street sweeper going by and jumps on it? Who knows. I just think it is funny that the Putin apologists think he has absolutely nothing to gain in this whether complicit or not.

Tonight on Charlie Rose James Clapper said he does not think Russia will attack Mariupol immediately.

It is a matter of win and not if. I believe it will be sometime this spring after the DNR has time to resupply and regroup. That was the whole purpose of them "agreeing" to the "ceasefire".

I think you got that backwards. Kiev was getting whipped and complaining of lack of weapons. There is no way Kiev agrees to the ceasefire if they weren't losing.

Yeah, it's kind of nice for the rebels to have a steady stream of arms and equipment coming in from Russia don't you think?

most people in America have no clue that the Ukraine conflict is still ongoing, or what the status of it is. To believe that a political assassination in Russia is making enough waves to be a 'household item' is dumb.

Its obvious at this point that the rebels and majority of people in eastern Ukraine want to be closer to Russia. Why shouldn't they have the right to leave and/fight for their freedom?

Are you against self-determination and independence?

Perhaps if they did so without intervention by Russia...

But I'm wrong since the peaceful Russians aren't doing anything and haven't been provoking anything with the Ukraine since this all started. They just want to live in perfect harmony with their neighbors and all that jazz.

You have a really ****ed up sense of "self determination" by the way.

or the self determination to flee INTO Ukraine whenever they get the chance. as has been reported.

Oh you mean so obvious the military leaders complain they cannot get enough volunteers from local areas to fight? Strange that the actual military leaders have a completely opposite view from your expertise.

Right to leave? Then why sign Minsk I or II? Both keep Ukraine whole. For a movement wanting independence it is odd they would sign the Minsk agreements...unless they had no intention of honoring them which is apparent with their actions.

Cute propaganda moves on state run Russian media this morning. They show the image of a Ukrainian 1000 hryvnia bill with a picture of Hitler on it. Odd since there is no 1000 bill. And showing images of Yatsenyuk side by side with a picture of Heinrich Himmler? Russian media is getting desperate with the whole Nazi comparisons. I think Godwin's Law would just explode if applied in Russia.

Saw a stream of the Nemtsov memorial. Kind of an odd thing. On one side you had a number of people standing (presumably relatives and friends) while speakers talked at a microphone. On the other side the public was filing by and laying flowers, while the service was in progress.

For a few days after Minsk II it seemed the shelling wasn't going to stop. But apparently it mostly has.

It has for the most part but it continues in critical areas - north of Debaltseve and east of Mariupol. Amazing how the "freelancers" are still gaining ground even during a ceasefire.

You misspelled "Russian Army Regulars."

Every time I think of this I can't help but think of the movie Stripes. These Russians just took their RV's for a joyride and wound up on the wrong side of the border and now are just fighting to get back home...
