Hot from the wire...

Lexington (AP) - University of Kentucky football coach Rich Brooks is "disgusted" after learning that a sign near Franklin, Kentucky, says "Welcome to Tennessee".

Brooks says he has evidence of this sign appearing in several other places near the Kentucky border and has contacted SEC officials to investigate the matter.

Now that IS FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!

They had the words to My Old Kentucky Home on the big screen while the song played. I did not know the words before seeing them on the screen on Sat. A little advice for UK, maybe you should choose a "fight song" that is a little more about fighting and a lot less about "weeping no more my lady".:cray::cray::cray:

Yeah when they UK fans sang My Old Kentucky Home, it was WEAK! I could barely hear them and I was sitting in the Tennessee section next to the KY section. The singing of Rocky Top was much louder, as was our Orange/White to their Blue/White. I wasn't impressed with their crowd at all. They didn't get loud until the OT.

You think they would just do what other schools do and let their band start playing with the fans start singing Rocky Top.

And you are are right, they are not bringing up basketball season this year are they? :)
Early loss or not, I sure would be hesitant to rub this bball season in thier face:)

I had no idea how much UK despised us. I knew they hated us but I didn't know how bad it was and they really had no class at all. I was sitting in the Kentucky section and the people below me and behind me were yelling and cussing the band every time they played Rocky Top. They even booed when we had an injured player and when Berry got jerked down by his facemask someone right behind me yelled "good, break his neck!". On our walk to the stadium we kept getting yelled at and booed by UK fans but all I had to do was say 22 to shut them up lol.

You must have been in section 111....I heard something to that affect also...

my old kentucky home is the most boring fight song in america---they need to dump this and come up with something good.

they weren't even that loud in the OT. and i remember a thread on here about how tennessee fans are weak a couple of days ago. obviously they have never been to a UK home game.

This was a tough game for Ky... They had high hopes this year.. They thought that this was the year.. I am so glad we did not play them earlier in the year.. There might have been a different outcome.....

Go Vols!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In fairness, My Old Kentucky Home is not a "fight song" and makes for a better comparison with Tennessee Waltz than it does with Rocky Top.

There are about 40,000 less people at UK games than UT games.

there was a poster that claimed UK was louder than Neyland.

We definately do not have a bad fan base. But I do have to say that our fans are not very loud when we have home games. I've been to Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue and Kentuckys games. Their stadiums blow ours out when it comes to making noise. In fact, it is not even close. For having 105k people at our games, its really not that loud. Which to me is disappointing.
