UGA calling out our snap count..

I hear what your saying but if thats the case then why would some teams go with a silent count

Even with a silent count the offense knows or has a general idea when the ball will be snapped.

The only advantage that an offense line has is the first strike as in they know when the ball is snapped as to move first. Ideally, a quick offensive lineman who knows the snap count could hit a defensive line before they get moving. Its the only advantage that I ever had.

It is 100% a penalty to attempt to mimic the snap. The defense can call audibles but not sudden screams or anything that would remotely mimic the offense snap call. For example, the defense can't say "Hut" or "GO" when the offense is set.

With a team that practices a cadence of down, set, hut. The offense team may go on any of those calls but usually on go. If a defense is yelling "hutch" really hard and loud as the offense is set would be a penalty.

I would not be surprised if this was going on. I said something first quarter when the ball was hiked in JG belly. However, not sure why we couldn't adjust. Offensive line is experience but not experience together which is a big difference.

‘Everyone on the defense needs to be still and quiet so we can run our play.’

Y’all, it’s football! If we get psyched out by this, we’ve already lost. O line couldn’t block, we ran for -1 yards, no adjustments made by staff, and we’re crying about the other team moving and talking. This is what losers complain about.

I don't see anyone crying but if it happened then penalty should be called. Adjustments can be made and we should have played better.

They werent calling out signals they were mimicking JG's cadence
They also squirted water all over him, as he sat submissively on all fours. Actual fact.

This was right before making him fumble 3 times and throw a pick.

Apparently lessons can be learned from the animal kingdom. If you let another male assert dominance, and treat you like a punk.... Then you become that thing. Remember the "I'll take the Vols QB shoe off and throw it to the sidelines" move? This is a recurring theme...No fight, no support from teammates, just "Take it".

No respect. None demanded.

JG has a knack for "no-balls" behaviour. Cimaglia in his limited time on field has shown 10x the balls. He's a kicker.

We can call UGA names. Meanies...Bullies...

We can sit around and braid each other's hair and talk about how they "did us wrong".

Is that really the answer?

Listing to WNML for insight and they say UGA was calling our snap count. It's illegal and inexcusable for the referees to not realize it with only 25k in the stands. That's how they got so many 5 yarders and were able to speed rush us. I remember Pruitt showing the refs his fingers for the number of times they had done it and forced a penalty. No offsides on them all game either. Did it cost us the game?? Not saying it did, but explains those penalties for sure and some of those free rushers.
The middle linebacker is the QB of the D. They have the right to call shifts as the offense does. Happens all over football. There's lots of communication going on during every play. Anyone who's played football knows that. If UGA was trying to effect snap count, the Referee or the Umpire, as well as the rest of the officiating crew, were right there to hear it and would have called it. There's always an excuse for losing, most of the time it's just that the other team was better.

What are u talking about?? My comment was they mimicked his cadence which they obviously did. Im talking specifically about all the false starts. Im pretty sure they did it on the play were the ball was snapped to him while he was still setting the protection. That other stuff u speaking on i dnt have an opinion 1 way or the other.

Pompous much? Everyone here knows what a linebacker does and that our OL got its collective a$$ handed to them. This is not a news flash brought by you. Not a thing you said was actually a retort to anything being said here. I usually don't place opposing team posters on ignore, but since you bring nothing of actual value, buh-bye...

If we are being honest, it will be called in the Bama game whether it is real or not. Did you not notice the calls last year after the game started getting tight? Same thing happened last vs Ole Miss. Like them or hate them, Bama is the cash cow of the SEC. If we can make it close again, we will have to beat Bama and the refs.

For any that doesn’t believe that is true, it IS true that Alabama went an entire season without being called for offensive holding. An entire season, whereas the norm per game is almost 2 per game, per team. Let that sink in. Some of the calls last night were blatant, just like they were last year on us.
Like that phantom holding call on Morris? Lol..That diving score made by Bennett wasn't a TD either. I re-watched the play like 5 times. That ball was short of the goal-line and never crossed the pylon.

Don’t get me started on the refs, we are going to have to beat them too in most of our games. If they call it both ways, I’m fine. How many offensive holdings calls didn’t get called on Ga Saturday? They held the whole game, so did their cornerbacks.

Edit: at least we didn’t get the Arkansas/AU crew. Pittman has a right to be irate.

Well according to the MENSA meeting material we have in here there was absolutely nothing we could have done they're just that good. Watch Bama make mortals out of them this week with their 5 star Oline across the board. Bet they get a penalty or two for simulating cadence or the slap deal or whatever they were doing. They won't get away with it in bubbaville.

The main issue here is TN offensive staff had no answer for what the D-line was doing. It's not the first time GA has "shifted" the D-Line. Some film work and a plan could have negated the shift. We got out schemed and it's not the first time.
This. You CAN'T expect the refs (especially SEC) to bail you out. If you do, might as well pack it in.

Notice how TN doesn't make many mistakes until they play Bama, UGA, or FL. I'm not saying the refs cost us those games, but the bogus officiating is blatantly obvious. I'm also willing to bet the drop Flowers had in the end zone would've been called as an interception if it were a GA db that made the play.

We all know UGA is better and nobody has even slightly claimed that it was the reason for the outcome. It’s just something that was happening during the game and people are trying to understand why we false started 5 times without crowd noise.

Precious poster stated it was new and teams have shifted before the snap for years. Never saw it called as far as I remember.
You don’t see it called much at the college level probably due to crowd noise making it hard to pick it out unless you’re right there around the LOS.

Please don't play stupid. They were DEFINITELY trying to effect the count/cause OL movement and that crap is coached from the top down. Question is, was what they were doing legal? I'm not fluent enough in the rules of the game to answer that. That's a question I'd rather a qualified person answer, rather than fans on a message board.

The official had a clear angle on the almost Int. and it was obvious on the replay. Let’s not get carried away.
