A bit of a weird victory for Lee. He missed weight and I wonder how that benefited him. He got absolutely sent into another dimension from that kick. But outside a few moments, he just Khabib'd Edson. Just has to stop being so careless when winning.

Did anyone see that guy not tap??

I just went back and watched the finish. It looked like he got hurt badly when they went to the ground. It looked like he went out at least twice (with :35 left and :25 as well) and then woke back up. His legs moving were what really made it difficult. It was natural instinct for him to be trying to buck with his legs, and when he was going out those muscles were still twitching heavily. I think he went out again inside the last 10 seconds and woke up right after the bell.

It should have been stopped at :35. But with the ref missing it and allowing the bell to sound, it shouldn't have been a finish.

Colby Covington on Khabib:

“I think it works for the little lightweight division, but that (expletive) doesn’t fly at welterweight. You’ve got a real All-American wrestler, not some sambo dude, so if he comes up to welterweight, he’s going to get his head dunked and balls put on his forehead just like the rest of them.

“I don’t think he’s that impressive. He couldn’t even finish a real estate agent. That’s (expletive) sad.”

On a side note, with Kevin Lee manhandling Barboza on the ground, it's become evident his grappling is just not good, and I'm less impressed with the Barboza/Khabib result.

Kinda looks like when Matt Serra hit GSP with a glancing blow on the back of the head and GSP was rocked and eventually KOed.

I don't know that the first one glanced him in any significant way. It was definitely the 2nd punch and Fedor gave him no time to recover. He hit him with big shots immediately.

Fedor has freakish punching power and has always been a great finisher. Taking nothing away from him and he definitely hit him with solid shots it just amazes me that a little tap on the back of the head can send people loopy when those same people can take good shots to the jaw.
Well Mir has always kinda had a glass jaw but the point stands.

If you’ve never tried it lightly tap yourself in the center of the back of the head. People who haven’t trained will be surprised how much it affects them.

To me it looks like Mir goes to grab because he completely whiffed on his overhand. He correctly realized he was vulnerable. It was all basically one motion. The ground is where he wanted this fight. Guys who get their bell rang don't have the presence of mind to instantly grapple. They stumble and/or stanky leg for a second.

I swear by all that’s holy you would argue with a fence post.
Having trained for years....when I get rocked it’s what I do without even thinking about it. It just happens. It’s reflex for BJJ guys. Like Mir for example.
I’m guessing you’ve never seen fights where rocked fighters try to take down the ref.

They don't try to take down the ref within .005 seconds of being rocked.

It takes two to keep an argument going.
