How is Conor bigger than Diaz? Weights aside I'm pretty sure Diaz is still three inches taller and has a two inch reach advantage. Yes, there is definitely a difference in the body composition. Conor has long arms and is at a height that fits well into both 145/155. I could be wrong, but I bet Diaz is the only person who has ever had a reach advantage on Conor inside the octagon.

Precisely what you said. Diaz is taller, but McGregor is bigger/stronger. The other poster was acting like it's a big deal that Connor fought Diaz at 170. Except that's diaz isn't a welterweight, he's a lightweight. Not like he went up and fought Woodley or Lawler or somebody like that at 170

Conor's climb as a challenger was ridiculously easy

Marcus Brimage - currently 7-7
Max Holloway - this is a pretty good win
Diego Brandao - meh
Dustin Poirier - another solid victory
Dennis Siver - pretty good vet on the tail end of his career

Then he got to fight Chad Mendes on 2 weeks notice for the title.

Also worth noting that Holloway was extremely young when they fought. Twenty-one I think, and it still went to a decision. I wouldn't mind seeing the two of them fight again.

Conor weighed in at 169 and fought at 169. Diaz weighed in at 170 and was probably closer to 185 when they fought.

Yes, Connor is a lot bigger than Diaz. Diaz is taller, but he's a skinny rail. Are you kidding me about the Mendez fight? Chad took him down at will, with every attempt and beat him down in the ground until he got so tired he couldn't stand up. No chance Mendez ever beats Connor, even though he was having his way withhim until he completely gassed out because he took the fight on a weeks notice? Okay man. I get that you're a McGregor fan, but dang, that was obvious to anybody who watched the fight. And this isn't basketball, it's called Mixed Martial Arts. There's no doubt he's a great striker, but the only time he's fought a wrestler he was dominated. It's why Dana hasn't let him go anywhere near another one. Had he fought Edgar or any other wrestler on his way to the title we probably wouldn't be having this conversation right now. I agree, would love to see the Aldo rematch. We didn't learn anything from a one punch Ko. Even Serra did that to GSP. Would like to see them fight again

I think you need your eyes checked. Diaz is clearly the bigger man. Clearly.

And enough about Mendes and a short camp, Conor was recovering from a pretty serious staph infection during that camp.

It's funny, all I remember heading in to the fight with Alvarez was how Conor had no chance. How Eddie was going to take him down and punish himm, after Conor abused him, the goal posts are moved once again.

I doubt that, but maybe. I would be surprised if even 180 was his walking around weight. I'm 2" taller than Diaz and I'm bigger boned than him and I'm 185 lbs.

I don't think he really had to lose much of any water weight to make 170, and that's where the big weight gains after weigh ins come from.

I'm not guessing. I'm going by what other fighters said, what Joe Rogan said. They'd know better than I.

Either way, saying Conor is the bigger fighter is just flat out wrong.

Yep, one of the greats that just refuses to walk away for good.

Like RJJ and both of them are two of my favorite athletes ever.

I think Fedor is probably the best brawler the HW class has ever seen. It used to be so hard to knock him out and he would just club dudes.

Yep.

I liked Fedor cause he just looked like some regular guy had wandered in from the streets.

His fight with Cro Cop was one of the most incredible performances in mma history. He outstruck Cro Cop who, back then, was the best striker in the game. He was truly elite and impossible to take down. Should have been a bad matchup for Fedor and he still took care of business. Great game plan and execution. His beatdowns of Nog were impressive also. Big Nog submitted everyone in Pride. His guard was legendary. Fedor sat in his guard for all of their fights and just beat him down with the most brutal ground and pound we'll ever see. He's a legend
