Conor won round two. And 4. And 1 was a domination.

Obviously it's just an opinion of mine. Thought it was 10-8, 9-10, 9-10, 10-9, 9-10.

I don't think Diaz necessarily won, but I don't think it was a clear loss like two of the judges thought.

When it goes 5 rounds I'm looking more at damage than anything. Conor took some shots and was in trouble a few times. But Conor mauled him. His face was a mess, his leg looks awful and he landed a ton of body shots. Conor stuffed every takedown but that last meaningless one at the end of the 5th. He held his own in the clinch.

1, 2, & 4 for conor. good fight. diaz and conor both had opportunities to finish it. both took some shots. conor had those couple of knockdowns early in 2. won 4 easily with his 2nd wind. diaz took 3 & 5 and you could argue 2. so there's you're 47-47 vote.

RUMBLE THOUGH! man what a shot

Conor definitely fixed his plan against takedowns and staying off the mat.

That won him the fight. The last takedown didn't make much difference compared to all of his stuffs.

48-47 isn't a clear loss? It wasn't 50-44 or anything.

It was a 48-47 or 47-47 fight either way. Both guys clearly won two rounds, and you can argue who won the other round or whether round 1 was 10-8.

But it isn't like the judges scored it terribly...

Conor stuffing the takedowns in late rounds was impressive, definitely something he worked on, since he knew he couldn't stay with Diaz on the ground.

Conor was saved by the bell in 3, and got gassed hard in the round. Then Diaz couldn't see out of his eyes, wasn't aggressive in 4, and Conor was able to catch his breath (also caught his breath by taking about 20 breaks in between exchanges).

Like Rogan said, Diaz has a face that shows damage. He landed plenty of strikes, Conor did too. Conor just doesn't show it the same.

Conor just can't fight at 170 though.

Yeah, Conor needs to drop back to 155. Definitely. He gave himself plenty of time to catch his breath and turned his back a bunch to run away. Understand it though. He did what he had to do to keep the fight alive.

Wasn't using "clear" in that sort of context.

At the end of the day, it's not a big deal. Just surprised Conor was given the majority. Fun fight, hopefully III will be just as good.

Gotcha. I took it the wrong way.

Setting up a third is definitely in everyone's best interest for $'s sake.

And I'm not against it either. These fights have had me the most pumped up since Spider's heyday.

Kinda surprised he was so far gassed at the end of 2 and then all of 3 like he was. He looked scary at 145 weigh ins before, and now can't hold it together twice at 170. I guess 155 would be best.

All good. I expected if it was close that Conor would get the nod. Especially when there were multiple rounds that could go different ways. It will make the money for sure if it is anything like 1 or 2.

Do you watch at your house huff? I know like desert babes shows the fight out on the east side

I'm in the Philippines so i just barely watched. Sometimes at home, sometimes at the bar. There is a good bar on Mill in Tempe for such occasions but the name escapes me rn.
