So Cain has pulled out if his rematch with Werdum due to injury. It's a shame how he stays injured. He's one of the best heavyweights I've ever seen. Stipe Miocic is stepping in. That should be a good fight. Stipe is no joke.

Jon Jones willing to fight at UFC 196 if real heavyweight title is on the line | FOX Sports

Jon Jones messed up in life with some juvenile stuff that could ruin other lives by driving drunk. With that being said, he was the real champ at light heavyweight and never did anything totally awful. He's young and while old enough to know better, he didn't do anything malicious with an intent. Just bad/stupid choices. I hope he wins the heavyweight title belt. Until he loses, he's a champion in my book.

I'd like to see the fight, but taking the belt from Werdum would be a little janky. Just fight for the pretend belt and the winner gets Werdum.

How long is Werdum out? If a few months, then yeah...that's too short to vacate the belt.

I just looked it up and its a lingering foot injury, and a back injury last week. He says he would have still fought Cain and hide his injury. It almost looks like he didn't want to fight Stipe. If that's the case **** his belt. Lol

Agreed. At least let the Jones and Stipe fight for an interim belt. It's no different than letting Conor and Mendes fight for it even though Aldo wasn't out long. Jones can maul Werdum later.

Shane Carwin's only title was interim and then he lost it to Brock :(

Shane Carwin was a beast. Love that dude. And Shogun. Bring back the heavy hitters.

I like Bones over someone like Rashad because while tactical through his fighting, he at least wants to throw down and be smart about it. Not just pick apart someone with weak offense to win by points while going undamaged. I think he started doing a little more of that towards the end of his reign but he still can whoop some ass by purely overpowering unlike a boring fighter like Rashad. I'm a Bones fan compared to Silva(Spider) for some reason. I guess I have to respect what Silva did but I wasn't amused by him or all that impressed compared to Bones to be honest. Even if it's not interim on the line, Bones should do it for a shot at the title. I'd lose a little respect if he didn't.

To be fair... Sonnen got a title shot in a different weight class he didn't deserve just because of his the people who paid to see his big mouth. Bones was a legit champ and if Sonnen can get a fight he didn't earn, Bones didn't earn a heavyweight title shot by fighting at that weight but he's a much better fighter than Sonnen. So, I guess I can see why Jones is aiming for the title on the line in his first fight. He earned his status over a long track record. Brock and Sonnen got their undeserved shots over popularity/ppv sales.

It's such a shame Rumble wasted so much time at Welterweight.

I think this every time I watch him fight. I still remember him making the jump to Middleweight so he wouldn't miss weight, then immediately missing weight. IIRC He's been a beast since he finally moved to LHW.
