Aldo has been dominating the division for so long he deserves the first crack at McGregor. Not saying it was a lucky punch but I actually feel more comfortable saying that after this result vs McGregor dominating Aldo for a 5 round decision.

Edgar is a class act and a great fighter, but plenty of people were "lol"ing about CMG's chance to beat Aldo. I think you need to accept he's pretty awesome.

Show me where I said he wasn't an amazing fighter. I know he is a great fighter. I knew he had a good chance of winning last night. My point is that you shouldn't count out Edgar if they fight. The "Lol" is at the fact that he didn't acknowledge any of the points I made.

UFC is getting good again. Predictability disappearing means the gap has closed between some of the top fighters. Cain down. Weidman down. Aldo down. Rousey down. Jon Jones had to leave. I think he takes the title back if he gets the shot assuming he's still the same fighter he was and hasn't somehow lost it. Jones cleaning up the light heavyweight division which was the deepest and the Cain > JDS > everyone else, Werdum changed that. Welcome back, UFC.

I think Conor would just out strike him and by a wide margin. I like Edgar, how could you not, he's relentless in pace and isn't afraid to trade shots. It would probably be a really good fight because of that, I just think Conor is the better striker.

I want to see him and Aldo again, I expect it to be an all out battle the next time.

Faber really wants Dillishaw, all reasons being obvious, after watching him fight Saenz yesterday, I'm not sure that's a good idea, he had him dead to rights after that knee and just couldn't finish. I'd still like to see it because Faber is a good guy and the Revenge factor would be sweet if he could somehow pull it out.

I've heard that Jones is jacked now. Haven't seen any photos but apparently he hasn't been slacking with his time off.

I agree. He's the best ever in that weight class, he deserves another shot next. Hard to call that a lucky shot, perfect timing, Aldo was sloppy to lean in like that, Conor madr him pay with a great shot.

It will be interesting. Conor has fought one great wrestler who was working him before he gassed out. Edgar just Knocked that guy TFO in moments.

Yeah, well, Conor just knocked out Aldo in 13 seconds, Aldo beat Edgar. Transitive Property doesn't really work here.

Sounds good. Could it affect his fighting though? And the mental stuff as well. I know he got more cautious as his streak went on but he was still top dog to do it and his fights were way better than GSP given how sad his fights became. If Jones can be what he was, I think he'll come back and stomp ass. And without having the title to lose(though he has his undefeated record to lose), he can't play it safe for the decision. I hope he comes out and buries Comier from start to finish if/when it happens.

I'm not invoking the transitive property to say Edgar wins. I'm talking about style matchups. Aldo's kicks are an amazing answer to wrestlers. McGregor may have better striking but he doesn't do what Aldo does in that regard. The only other guy who owned Edgar was Benson Hendo who has elite body kicks and good head kicks.

I understand that Aldo was the dominant champion and is dangerous, etc. etc. etc. But when you are thoroughly dominated like he and Ronda were, I don't think an immediate rematch for the title is justified. It's Tate and Edgar's time to try for the belts. Ronda and Aldo need to wait until after that.

Now, in the real world, will the UFC allow the fair thing, or will they try to get both rematches on the UFC 200 card for massive profit? I think we all know the answer to that one...

No, Aldo should wait. I'm guessing he'll have to beat someone else then get another shot at either Connor/Edgar for the title. Aldo deserves a chance, but like you said, when you get beat in 13 seconds it's hard to validate an immediate rematch.

Tate lost to RR twice and her resume is relatively unimpressive otherwise (aside from her record). I think Rousey deserves first shot at HH. Edgar has a very impressive resume, only lost to Aldo once, and is coming off 2 huge wins. I think Edgar earned it this weekend.

If they want to maximize profit, they probably make that into 2 cards.

I don't think Aldo vs CMG is any more of a draw than Edgar vs CMG...I guess internationally (Brazil) it would be.

I don't look at those 2 losses being equal. One person got caught early, while one person got dominated for over a round. That being said, I can't stand Ronda and I like Tate, but Ronda should get the shot over Tate.

CM vs Aldo or CM vs Edgar, I don't think one makes that much more than the other as CM will sellout both fights. I would argue more CM haters (I hate that word) would rather see the nice american kid in Frankie beat him.

I said it before. I think Edgar has earned a shot. I feel that if Cowboy wins this weekend he might not get it though. The possibility of having the lightweight champion against the featherweight would be a big sale. On top of that, the two really don't like each other. The trash talk leading up would be unreal.

Pretty sure that's what Conor wants to do. He and Cerrone really don't like each other. If he stays at 145, I think Aldo being the only champion in that division and holding the belt for 10 years is enough to warrant an immediate rematch. Give Frankie a winnable fight and give him the winner of the rematch.

Edgar deserves a shot but does he deserves it more than a guy that has dominated the division for 10 years? It's a tough call, had Conor beat Aldo's ass for a round or so and then finished him, yeah, give Edgar the shot. I want to see a re-focused Aldo.
