UCLA Loss was because of our OL

NO WAY buddy(directed at the OP). The offensive line had to do the best with what they had. UCLA KNEW that we had to run because Crompton can't even hit a gosh damn open receiver, he BOUNCED some of his pass attempts. I mean, how does that happen?? We had to run the ball every play and I thought we did an ok job of it considering UCLA stacked the box and run blitzed.

They are also won by smart quarterback play. The line can only hold defenders back so long and Crompton has to be intelligent enough to either scramble or step up into the pocket. Oh yeah, not throwing the ball to the other team might help too.

It starts at the line, though. If the d-line is dominating your line, it is over. You won't win the game unless you win it with your defense. I am agreeing Crompton is horrible, but there are a lot of problems than just him.

I actually think the left side of the Oline is decent. If you watched closely, most of the runs were to the left side, even when that was the short side of the field. The problem seemed to be UT had no success running on the right side and everyone on UCLA's defense knew it and stunted to the left most of the game.

That along with a backup center, little passing threat, made it very difficult to run.

Blaming the loss on the O line or Sullins is on par with the "wizards of smart" who want Phil back.
UCLA D A R E D us to throw and Crompton couldn't complete simple passes. The WRs were open. When a defense piles in 8 or 9 in the box and blitzes almost everytime, the QB has to make a play.

I'm not gonna pile on, just wanna say the o-line showed a lot of heart in the fourth quarter and the entire defense absolutely beat the hell out that quarterback. No team can overcome 5 tunovers, last years team loses that game by at least 2 or 3 touchdowns. Kiffin will get all these receivers healthy and get the passing game on track, I'm proud of the fight this team showed.

I'm starting to wonder if you watched this game. Our line did well enough that Crompton should have made something happen. The guy is just awful. I wanna fast forward to 2010 and lay my hopes on a freshman quarterback. I'll have more hopes in whoever he is than I ever will Cough-it-up-ton

Some of you all are ignorant. Yes crompton takes the blame because he plays a high profile position. Did you forget we basically had no running game tonight either??? The o-line screwed over the passing and running game. Western Kentucky shouldn't even been a game because they are no doubt the worst team in college football. We got exposed tonight to a mediocre team. Our o-line is our softest part of the team. Crompton did pretty decent last game when the line was able to provide good blocking against the all-almight Hilltopters.

This loss squarely falls on the OL. It is pathetic this year and last and before that. Crompton surely is suspect but give the kid a break. He had absolutely NO time. The routes the receivers were running were bad. This walk on center has a long way to go and Josh McClendon simply ain't got it.
You have got to be kidding me. this was 99% poor qb play by none other than the mustached one.

The offensive line didn't throw 4 INT's and bounce passes even when he had time to throw. Offensive line had to run block most of the game because we had no passing game. And they did a decent job of that because it's hard when UCLA run blitzes and stacks the box. 8-9 people blitzing and playing the run against probably 7 blockers...doesn't usually equal good things, but they still managed to crank out decent yard on MOST, not all, plays. If the passing game had connected then the field would have been "stretched" and spread the defense out more instead of them being able to focus on stopping the run

You must had been in the bathroom whenever UCLA ran right through our line. The blocking was horrible. It seemed like every single play I noticed one of our linemen almost put on their back because they were getting driven off the line. You can't have a passing game or running game when the line is inept. I get what your saying about Crompton and I agree. Crompton doesn't deal well wit adversity. If the line would have given him some confidence than maybe he wouldn't have felt like he was about to be sacked all the time and throw errant passes.

But still, UCLA DARED us to throw the ball and beat them...and we couldn't. So that defense just kept bringing pressure. I didn't get to catch about half the game. That was just my observation from what I saw. I definitely could have missed something that you are talking
