I might get bashed for this, but I'm not very optimistic Mostella will be here 4 years, even 3 would be somewhat surprising and that's if he gets cleared.
Just looking at his track record of high schools, prep schools and colleges the kid has trouble staying at one spot long enough to unpack.

That can be a troubling sign, but I'd like to see a study of the top 100 kids in the last five years and see (a) how many finish at the same school where they started and (b) how many transfer two or more times. It's almost SOP to transfer at least once and twice isn't unusual. Another reason the Clearinghouse can take a while, collecting all those transcripts.
Yes but he will be more structured here and have more help to make sure he stays qualified which does not guarantee he will do it. I just thought u meant that their was something more in his history that looked troubling.
Not sure, thought he was at atleast 2 or 3 different high schools, plus signed Okie State, then a prep school, then commit to Pitt, and now enrolled at Tennessee.
No if the story I read was correct then he went to a high school in Alabama for the first three yrs and then transferred for his senior yr in Alabama.....He then went to prep school instead of Juco and took some online classes to qualify( which I feel is the scary part).....most of the college commits and decommits had to do with him not being able to qualify and his coach leaving Pitt.....His history does not scare me at all if he is able to make that low C average in college. LOL
My confidence in him keeping a C average isn't very much considering he hasn't been able to qualify to get into college in over a year.
Its not that big of a warning side anymore. Alot of times kids dont put the importance of education early in their high school careers. Its really hard to make it up well into your junior and senior yrs. Look at Gerald Williams at Tennessee and almost every Juco that we have had on campus is bc they didnt care enough in high school.
No mention of Pops working out, seems pretty clear what's going on there.
Baulkman and Punter's names have been thrown around quite a bit early on as guys who have impressed, that's good news.
Really wish they would hurry up and clear McKnight, that one dragging out would hurt more than Mostella IMO.

The story you read is incorrect. Mostella attended La Lumiere in Indiana his senior year. LaLu is Indiana's version of Oak Hill Academy, or IMG Academy. Players go to LaLu to focus on basketball and getting their transcripts and test scores in order to play college basketball. If a year at LaLu and a year at prep school, which also specializes in getting kids eligible, doesn't have his stuff in order, it is troubling.
And how many of those JUCOs signed somewhere else and weren't cleared? Then committed somewhere else and still weren't cleared?
Like I said, it's jmo you don't have to agree, but there's a reason schools weren't knocking down his door a month ago.
Didn't mention Chiles or McGhee either. No impressions made on CDT? Well.... it is just the first session.
The group included returning players Josh Richardson, Armani Moore, Robert Hubbs and Derek Reese along with six of the eight players Tyndall and his assistants signed during their first month on the job. Post players Tariq Owens, a 6-10 freshman, and Eric McKnight, a 6-9 graduate transfer, will join the team in the Summer Two session.
not as common on the basketball side of things but plenty of guys sign with a school in football and go juco. He committed to OK State and I feel that he wouldnt be cleared to play so they let him out of his LOI and he committed to Pitt where was officially not cleared to play and went to prep school instead of Juco.
They didnt pursue him bc he was borderline getting in....If it was obvious he was in a bunch of schools would have been after him.
Posted via VolNation MobileCoach speak, maybe? But I'm very optimistic about next year's team
I can't wait to see how next year's team will look like.
Chris Dortch » Tyndall pleased with Vols effort and energy
And what's the reason a bunch weren't if there's a really good chance he gets in and is year 3 or 4 years?
