Ty Simpson?

Living in Tide Land I have not read or heard anything that he is interested in Vols. There has really been no news about him transferring at all other than he would evaluate his future with his family. Not sure if Bama coach has indicated he wants a new QB next season or not is the reason discussing with his family.
For a long time I've heard that Ty Simpson has been an Alabama fan since childhood & stayed in Tuscaloosa 3 years as a backup QB just to get his chance as starter. I just don't see him ever playing at Tennessee or any other school. Confusing times, eh?

Literally 1/3 of the $20.5 revenue sharing cap imposed by the NCAA, for one player.
Shows what an enormous part of team assembly NIL will remain.
NIL doesn't come out of the 20.5 million. NIL and revenue sharing are two different pots. School controls revenue share and collectives handle NIL with coach input on how much on a player..

I know. That’s why I separated them and have repeatedly posted the differences. A school could pay a single player that from revenues and be screwed if not for the NIL deals so many bemoan. That’s the illustration.

There is no excuse for Joey Aguilar to ever take another meaningful snap after the Oklahoma game. Once playoff contention was out, we needed to be looking to the future.
There isn't a program in country that operates like that. The goal is to win as many games as possible, not play for next year.

Simpson seems like a classy guy. I don’t know what happened with his Dad and Heupel, if anything, but it’s really hard to blame a kid for not coming to Tennessee right after the Pruitt debacle.

Yeah, you’re pretty much spot on. Pruitt was recruiting Simpson and offered his father a spot on the staff. Pruitt was fired before this happened and due to ncaa rules at the time Heupel had about a month to make an impression on Ty and his father, which just wasn’t feasible. Plus the uncertainties dealing with the program after the Pruitt fall out.

Most of our own fanbase, myself included, didn’t anticipate Heupel being as successful as he has been, so Ty made the best decision for himself at the time, which likely came with some good advice at the time from his father. Is what it is. Would be sweet to get him back though.

I'm stating a dislike for Bama sabotagers. What are you stating?
Seriously, a player that is going to come here from any school is not going to come here to sabotage Tennessee. What's more, a player coming here is not going to sabotage his own career.

In essence, A Conspiracy theory by Alabama to sabotage the Tennessee football program. You must be smoking some good stuff.

Goes well with catnip and lavender leaves.

Funny that people will get mad at a player for opting out but then don't want a player that helped get you to a bowl game to play or don't want a senior who is a starter to play after your team isn't able to make the CFP.

A coach isn't going to bench his starters in order to play some bench players because you're not going to make the playoffs

I dare say coaches definitely aren't going to bench their starters if they're out of the playoffs to show case their freshmen or next year starters and risk someone seeing them and saying hey I can pay you more than TN can, come here when the portal opens. That's why the O&W and other Spring games didn't get broadcast

It is interesting that "opting out" is quitting on the team but a coach "opting out" of the rest of the season isn't quitting on the team.

"Well, the coach is looking to next year....." Yeah, and so is the player who opts out of a bowl.

It's right in front of them and they still don't see it.
