Bey didn't really mind Hartline and Day lying to his face, apparently. Hartline is gone, so Bey won't have to look at and trust him every day. But Day was in on it, too. I hope Day didn't tell Bey that he didn't know about Hartline until he heard the official announcement like everyone else. You have to figure Bey is smart enough to know that Day was lying if he doubled down on his story like that.

This needs to be a case study for the NCAA as they continue to tweak calendars and eligibility rules in the NIL era. Decisions by one kid impact others. If they change their mind, the trickle down effect from the initial decision is cast in dye and that impact on others including teams and players can’t be changed.

Tennessee needs to release the kid - that is the right thing to do. But the NCAA, as incompetent as it is, needs to establish consequences for the player, when something like this happens. At the very least, the player should have to wait until Fall practice starts to join their new team. Call it a “cooling off” period.

nah dont back track now. This was all baseless information and he doesnt need to release a statement bc none of this was true.

we can sit here and wish. truth is he's gone.

hate his family situation is what it is, but, that's life. they handled this situation, horribly. and frankly, hope he gets everything he wants at OSU. which is instant gratification. getting to the league isnt just about where you went to school.

if dude is still at osu in two years i'll eat crow

I am not sure why a bama fan is even on this board. but I am not back tracking at all. I have been saying he could flip from the start. you just wanted to make absolute statements without any absolute facts to back it up until now.

I don’t really have any ill will. I don’t care one way or the other where he goes. If he or his family got paid they should repay the money before he gets a clean release. Otherwise he can sit a year.

According to the Knoxville News, players aren't paid by UT until they enroll. (Revenue sharing money)
NIL can be paid prior to enrolling but those deals have to clear the NIL Clearinghouse, so I highly doubt he has received anything yet.

Maybe. I just remember Nico got an advance before ever even making it to campus. If he hasn’t received anything I’m good with getting him as far away from the program as possible
