I would think Heupel, and pope even, are spending little effort here. You’re not going to delay other moves or let it hang out there too long. It’s been a week. Not sure what more there is to be said. Moving on whether he’s in or out.

Heupel is the last coach that needs this drama coming off the heels of Boo and Nico.I would think Heupel, and pope even, are spending little effort here. Austin Price said something in the recent Tim Banks impromptu video that led me to believe that the portal would not be an option for Bey (or any freshman), though it wasnt directly in reference to Bey.Porthole is right around the corner.
at best our "leverage" ends as soon as the January portal opens. We have all the leverage now that he's signed, so I'm sure we're dragging it out and hoping he calms down and comes around to the idea of staying here before cutting him loose.
Who said this?On the Zone this morning:
“The only thing I can go off of is he had buyer’s remorse, because he was so wishy washy through the process. And it is what it is. If I’m Tennessee, I just let him go. If he wants to go to Ohio State, let him go. He’s going to be able to do whatever he wants to in the end anyway. Now, I would tell you this, to go in the portal, whether you’re 18 or not, since he went ahead and signed, you have to go to class. Well, the portal closes before Tennessee goes to class. So technically, Tennessee doesn’t have to let anybody that signs out of their deal…but I think Tennessee certainly would. Because Tennessee wants to do right by the kid. They don’t want anybody feeling like they don’t want to be here, and they’re being forced to go here. So again, I think you’re in the process right now of Tennessee talking to Legend Bey and getting all of that stuff figured out. But he’s certainly been a little bit all over the map, and I think that’s what’s resulted in this story. And then, of course, a lot of the embellishment is from certain parties to make it look like he was being held hostage when he was not.”
