Surprises are Josh Palmer as a true freshman (wow! can't wait to see him) and really glad to see Nigel Warrior in the #1 spot.

Yes, good point. And, that's just sad, IMO. Unless some of these guys have made tremendous strides at CB under Warren since last season.

I told you guys before fall camp that Wiggins would be a backup here at best and that Justin Martin and Emmanuel Moseley would have huge seasons.

Martin and Moseley will be All-SEC corners this season. Book it.

So Josh Palmer is starting at WR2? If so, that speaks volumes for him, because I think our stable of WRs is pretty darn good.

I said before fall camp he would make a name for himself by this point. The kid is special. He might be our best receiver this season along with Latrell Williams.

Also understated that Latrell Williams is listed first at spot receiver ahead of Tyler Byrd. That's big news. I've been high on him since he signed with us last year.

Nigel at starting SS with TKjr and MA as or at FS. I like that.

I love that as well. Now I need the coaches to do the right thing and start Abernathy ahead of TKjr. Enough with rewarding seniority. We gotta play our best athletes and right now that's Abernathy and Warrior at safety.

TKJr would be lost at LB. He could play up in the box like Eric Berry did some but not LB.

I disagree if you're talking about skill to play LB. I think he would make a great outside LB. But if you mean he would be lost because of not knowing the playbook or experience there, I see that.

I find it interesting that Latrell Williams is listed ahead of Byrd in the slot. Speed Kills!

I've been saying for a while now that Latrell Williams and Josh Palmer are our most talented receivers alongside Jauan Jennings.

I hope we can move Tyler Byrd to corner next year with the emergence of Latrell Williams as a great slot receiver.

Aside from the App St game last year, Abernathy looked lost. The entire secondary, perhaps with the exception of Warrior, is a weak spot on this team and has been for years and years.

Kyle Phillips not starting and Wiggins being 3rd team are both unexpected.

Also looks like we are going to rotate a lot of bodies at wr

I'd rather have Wiggins on a bad hip than 100% healthy Mosley. Little bit of sarcasm but not much.

Moseley is twice the player Wiggins is. You'll regret making that statement.

I said all off-season that the corner spots were locked up by Martin and Moseley. Both players will be GREAT this year.

That's amazing, given how both players, especially Moseley, were mediocre at best last year. You don't improve by leaps and bounds between your junior and senior years.

Disappointed not to see Bituli in the two deep in the Middle. Most confusing part to me.

Bob Stoop and Butch Jones better hope their gamble pays off or both will be unemployed after this year.

Its SEC championship or bust for this team.

Something we agree on. If Byrd isn't a huge part of the offense, move him to d. He's too talented to waste.

No it isn't. Butch is back next year unless the wheels fall off (6-6 or worse). If he goes 7-5, it depends on who the losses are to.

Dormady 12 ahead of JG 2, Jack Jones 66 ahead of Boulware 50, Berry 41 ahead of Sapp 14, TK 24 ahead of Abernathy 22.

Only 2 positions in numerical order 8 ahead of 10 and 5 ahead of 7 excluding special teams.

Latrell Williams is a more natural receiver than Tyler Byrd. This is actually a good development if he can win the starting slot receiver job. It means we can move Tyler Byrd to corner next year when we have our 2 senior starters this year leave.

Palmer starting is surprising. I figured Callaway had it locked down. But Palmer has looked smooth and natural in clips.

I still don't know why they haven't tried Smith at RT. I would more confident with Kendrick/Boulware/Robertson/Jones/Smith than Tatum at RT.

Tatum is better at tackle. Tatum is actually the best tackle on the team in terms of talent. He's a future NFL starting caliber LT.

No wonder you think it is Atlanta or bust for this team this year. You somehow project about half the players on our team to eventually start in the NFL.

You must not have watched closely then. Abernathy was SEC defensive player of the week after the Virginia-Tech game. He got hurt soon after with a hamstring issue and wasn't quite the same. But when healthy, he was our best DB last year.

In terms of athleticism, it's not even close between him and TKjr.

Abernathy should be starting at safety alongside Warrior. Period. Those are our 2 best athletes in the secondary.

You do when you can finally get good coaching.

Martin and Moseley always had the physical tools. They were just poorly taught by Martinez. Charlton Warren is significantly better and we'll see those results this season.

I believe BOTH Martin and Moseley will be All-SEC corners this year. They'll be that good. And both will be drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.

That was because Virginia Tech had Crisco on their hands in that game and fumbled 5 times, and Abernathy recovered 3 of them. Fumble recoveries are mostly a product of luck.

He was lost in coverage for most of the year.

no, it's not.

Yes it is. Our talent level indicates that anything short of Atlanta is a monumental disappointment.

This is Tennessee. Mediocrity is unacceptable. We should hold this program to a standard of greatness. And after 4 full recruiting classes (2 of them being top 5) and a lineup littered with NFL caliber juniors and seniors, it's winning time for Butch Jones. I gave him a pass last year because of the injuries.

He aint getting no pass this year. Its put up or shut up time for him.
