No, just a guy asking a fair question and getting a bunch of d-bag responses from the usual suspects.
If Dobbs could have been statistically better he would have had the greatest year of any QB in Vol history, including Peyton. Is that what you're getting at?
I don't know if Helfrich would be amazing as the OC, but I think it would at least show a willingness to think outside the box, make a "swing for the fences" type of hire and go full out next year to win big. Staying within the current staff shows me a conservative, fear of the unknown attitude that will result in the W/L columns looking pretty much the same. If we go with someone already on the staff, I will be depressed.
Personally think Dobbs could have improved his passing and been that much better with someone with experience working with him on fundamentals.
If CBJ says toe OC job is a destiny job then Scott doesn't fit the bill. He wants to be a head coach and actively seeks one.Love your moniker by the way. I see you're reasoning on Scott and Azzani, but I've looked at their Bios and neither have any experience as a QB coach. Scott coached just about everything else on the offense but QB. Azzani has been a passing game coordinator but I don't think that's exactly the same as QB coach. Who knows though, maybe one or both could end up being the greatest OC in our school's history. Still hope we get one that 's proven it somewhere else. Need a bigger name for recruiting IMNSHO.
