Then it's obvious you did read Dooley's Bio. You know the one that said he was at some powerhouse school named..Southern Meth. Univ. before being hired by Saban to coach the TE and handle recruiting at LSU. And we kinda of know where that went.
Completely different situation ...
LSU has in-state talent . You step into the back yard and you have enough recruits to field a team . Plus it is Nick Saban . In his system the Recruiting coordinator makes contacts , sets appointments , big Nick is the Closer . If you note ...Nick is still top of the food chain ...and CDD is not there an has not been there .
Here it is a bit different . You have to sell playing time , you have to sell an NFL pipeline , you have to sell the facilities...you have maybe 1 or 2 recruits in your back yard ( and many years they want to go somewhere else ) There is no CNS to close for you . So if following the same model as CNS ...how is CDD and his inexperienced RC gonna close ? Is he gonna tell them about CPF success at sending kids to the NFL ...or about how he forged one extra win at la Tech in a 3 year period , maybe how many kids he intends to send to the NFL ? Is he gonna introduce them to his staff and say ...you may not know them but they are wonderfully smart and nice ?
Veeeerry different than at LSU , in LA , where you are probably the 3rd or 4th football talented state and you have a very successful closer in a closer system .
That is what the whole CLK scheme about preparing for the NFL and 'all star' staff was about . That is what has to be done in this state.
so where it went then ...is not where it will go now .
you are comparing apples to oranges.
Not a recruit rich state, no CNS as the closer . These guys have to sell something that they don't have .
