Tuesday practice highlights

I can't be the only one to think that Milton treated that game like a scrimmage. His scrambles looked to be half hearted and really just trying to not take a sack more than trying to make a big play. I am not really sure on his assignment progression as it looked as if he had open WR's that he didn't make it to on his progression. Which yeah I get it a couple times he had 8+ seconds so really no reason to miss those. We will definitely know more this week if he continues to get plenty of time in the pocket and continues to hold the ball. I said this in another thread and will here. He had our OL in the right set all but what looked to be 1 play. The past 4 years we struggled getting our OL in the right set. Even against terrible teams we still had protection issues.

The love for #15 blows my mind. Nothing against the kid at all but dang. He’s been there 2 years and 2 coaches and still 3rd on the depth chart and y’all crap yourself every time he appears n a video hahahahaha.
How’s he “been there 2 years” when this is THE BEGINNING of his second season? And why does favoritism blow one’s mind? We all have preferences and narratives…VN didn’t invent it.

that’s a big assumption, not saying he would or wouldn’t but to automatically think he would is a reach.

I watched an in depth video of the current UCF QB coach who worked with CJH. Their philosophy is to not try and correct certain things in QBs natural mechanics. If it’s something that has been a part of their throwing motion for the last 14-15 years… why change it now.

It some cases it makes a lot of sense . If they're completing passes in highschool and not hanging too low, messing with their mechanics can ruin a perfectly effective passer.

Not too mention that most followed HBs recruiting, whereas Milton and Hooker weren’t recruited here out of HS. So, you have one kid who was followed since his junior year in HS versus two guys who kind of appeared out of nowhere, who both had issues at their previous school. It shouldn’t be that hard for him to figure out.

50,000 words is generally thought of as the minimum amount of words for a novel.

Looking at your post count you must be north of 5 novels written on VN. That is impressive.
Lot of two word posts…like **** you as well as gifs and posted tweets. That still count as a novel…or are we down to pamphlets? 😉

Why does that bother you that some of us are pulling hard for the kid? He’s done nothing but stay the course as a Vol with the cards stacked against him. Sometimes a QB doesn’t fit the system. I and many others on this board want to see him succeed either at UT or elsewhere. Preferably at UT. But, if he goes elsewhere I’d love to see him win big just to prove he’s a lot better than everyone thought.

You really gonna call the last group coaches? Weinke failed at RB and QB and he was one in college for Christ sakes. Don’t knock the kid for the coaches under developing him. When if he walked tomorrow and went almost anywhere else he would light it up and you’d be pissed that Tennessee didn’t do enough to keep him.
Nope. I’m not that immature.

Nope. I like the kid, he’s 100% Vol, and I’m pulling for him to succeed. The fact is he’s not a RPO type QB so he wasn’t right for Pruitt’s system nor is he right for Heupel’s. But someone out there needs a pure drop back QB and I’d love to see him light it up in a system that fits his strengths.

Some have followed since his Freshman year, but at the end of the day, we all have to respect the coaches decision to go with who he thinks is the best QB to win with now.

QB’s looked crisp. That drill where the D lineman ran around in circles before hitting the dummy cracked me up
