The primary player in the wildcat plays QB in that formation. Passes and pitches are options. Ronnie Brown ran it the best for the Dolphins...for a coach (Tony Sperano) with nothing to lose. Houston Nutt embraced it because he needed something to jump start a stagnant offense. Dooley did because...stop me when you recognize the movie. We reached offensive levels (rushing wise) that dated back decades...so again, why?

Tony, Evan has been out with a hamstring injury, he did not participate in that

No... we can just put our 6th lineman in for that.

It doesn't matter if hes not fast, because he doesn't play that position anyway so he can have no effect there as a decoy.

I'm going to guess that Evan runs around a 4.35 - 4.38 in the 40. That is one fast kid.

Latrell Williams and Tyler Byrd could probably beat him, but Evan still has that rare, elite speed. I read not long ago where L. Williams had ran a 4.27 once. That's smokin' fast.

I don't believe Evan is a better athlete than Eric. We'll disagree there. There's just no evidence of that. As a matter of fact, Evan can't get on the field ouside of special teams and Eric......well, we all know about Eric. I know that speaks more to what kind of football players and not necessarily how athletic they are, but I believe the two tend to go hand in hand, especially in the SEC.

Some of you crack up. By your estimation, Devon Hester (the greatest returner of all time) should be the greatest WR ever. He was mediocre at WR. It's a different skill set. Evan got some work last year at RB and it didn't work out.

Hester got some production at WR, but definitely wasn't an AUTOMATIC first down/TD. :)

Not to mention "wildcat" formations fool almost zero defenses these days. Some studies show the QB keeps the ball >80% of the time. For defenses, it just becomes a backyard game of "smear the QB."

I think putting him on the field for an offensive play every now and then could give opposing DCs, especially those at Bama, UGA, and UF something to see on film and spend time on what they think we could do with him and when. I'd put him at slot or WR not QB. Not a bad thing. I know if I'm Shoop and I see Tabor for example show up for one offensive series or play per game, I would spend time on it. Not saying Tabor is Berry, no gator is the equivalent of any Vol.

I'm not a fan of the Wildcat, and with our back three Dobbs, Hurd, and Kamara, there is no need for it anyways. I would like to see Evan in the slot. I think he'd be dangerous on sweeps. At the least, it adds another threat from our offense. He could make a good decoy on PA passes to Byrd or Smith.
