TrumPutinGate

I'm no expert in the Steele dossier; I've only read it once. To my knowledge, this is not alleged to be an agreement discussed in it, but it is in perfect keeping with the kinds of agreements it alleges to have been struck between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign last summer (most notably Rosneft shares):

For the record, Abramovich is a Russian oligarch who is deeply in bed with Putin and the Kremlin, perhaps more so than any other. To do business with him is to directly do business with Putin himself. That, in itself, isn't explicitly illegal (unless it currently happens to fall under the sanctions regime) but it is extremely suspect, given what else we know about Trump contacts with Russia and what else we have good reason to suspect concerning such contacts.

Mick requested a comprehensive timeline of Trump-Russia, which goes back to '86, when Trump and Soviet politicians were first making inquiries about a potential Trump visit, which occurred in '87. That would take a long time, but I will add a blog site (compiled by someone else) to the OP. While not a "timeline" exactly, it is a comprehensive (and fairly updated) data collection of all the key figures potentially involved in this scandal.

Thanks. Looking forward to reading it.

What evidence is there that any defense contractors are working to undermine the government (to the extent they can do so) due to Trump's foreign policy?

I never said they do. I just asked why you would discount that concern out of hand.

A big reason we're in the mess we are is due to the GOP's refusal to force Trump to disclose his financial interests, as all previous presidents did.

More Republicans should get behind this. Worst case scenario is we end up with President Pence or President Ryan. Big deal.

The refusal to get on board is because of one of two things: either Republicans are too concerned about their constituencies or there are some very powerful Republicans involved in this scandal too.

Unless they were under oath nothing to see. Politicians can say what they want as long as they don't lie under oath. They are politicians and I think being able to lie is a job requirement.

What is she trying to hide, we need an investigation. Why are these democrats meeting with a Russian ambassador? We have to know, we need to investigate and probably be ready to impeach and lock them up

Look, Dimms are allowed to do anything. Don't you know these things?

Investigate anyone that has ever talked to a russian ambassador. That is fine with me.

I don't think it's that. I think they just don't know what to do. They are concerned about Trump's stability and you'll notice a lot of them hedge their bets when questioned about him. At the same time, Trump is immensely popular with the base in a lot of places simply because he's aggravating to the media and institutions.

So I think a lot of this is GOP House and Senate just waiting to see how the chips fall.

No, the real (and only) scandal here is that someone highly placed inside our government, someone who has taken a solemn oath to protect our Constitution, is trying to demean, undermine, and destroy a fairly-elected President of the United States.

This is unacceptable, and whoever is behind it should see jail time. I don't know exactly who it is that is trying so hard to hurt our sitting leader, but I am pretty sure they are using the Twitter handle @realdonaldtrump.

That person at the very least needs to stop distracting the POTUS from the hard day to day labor of making America great again.

The key point.
