Depends. This was one count based on one lie to the FBI.
If Trump lies to them, it will be repeatedly and for the purpose of covering up very serious misconduct by him. His sentence would be far greater.
But that is assuming Trump lies. Maybe he won't. Maybe he will tell the truth. Anything is possible.
Trump will fight tooth and nail to keep from testifying. You know if he would just tell the truth about Russia and how he was used and manipulated I would let the whole thing slide and show some empathy for him.
How was Laura Ingraham helped by admitting wrongdoing and apologizing?I've had the same thought. But its limited. For example, if he were to come forward and say that the Russians were blackmailing him for an affair with some hookers, as documented in the dossier, he'd deprive them of their power over him. They can't blackmail him if he discloses it and is honest about it. As painful as that might be for him, and as much as it likely would squash any chance of reelection, it would clear the air.
But it probably stops there. If the issue is one of influence based on financial ties, especially questionable financial practices and reporting over the years, then he might not ever admit it because to do so could lead to substantial criminal liability and even financial ruin.
The last problem, regardless of the source, is that for Trump to admit any of this just runs counter to his nature. He cannot bear the thought of criticism of him by others. He has no sense of self-deprecating humor. He has no capacity for introspection, whatsoever. Bottom line is that he will just not ever admit wrongdoing. Ever.

There is nothing he could do that would make you happy. If he resigned, you would be pissed that he was the reason for Pence being in office. Her apology was viewed as insincere.
I have no idea whether it was or was not. Most of what I know about all that is what I've seen here. But, in any event I'm actually not sure that an apology is exactly what we would call it from Trump.
More of a confession.
Man o man, talk about collusion, and with FISA warrants ... something stinks
Everything herefrom the texts complaining about FISA delays to the exchanges indicating coordination, to the White House visitor logsseems to match to a disturbing degree. At best, its a strange coincidence worth investigating furtherbut its likely much more, a congressional investigator told this reporter. Congress has to take this information seriously if we hope to restore Americans trust in our federal justice system.
BOMBSHELL: Secret TEXTS Show FBI, DOJ May Have RUSHED Anti-Trump FISA Warrant | Sara A. Carter
Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski reportedly shouted and cursed at Democratic lawmakers during an interview with the House Intelligence Committee earlier this month.
CNN reported Thursday that Lewandowski's interview with the panel became heated and resulted in the former Trump aide swearing at Democrats on the panel, including California Rep. Jackie Speier.
"I'm not answering your f---ing question," Lewandowski shouted at the lawmakers at one point, according to four CNN sources. They added that the lobbyist "repeatedly" swore at the lawmakers, who were investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and any possible coordination with the Trump campaign. during his March interview, Lewandowski reportedly would only answer questions he deemed "relevant" and eventually refused to answer any more.
