TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

Was this the meeting with the Russian attorney who is connected to Fusion GPS?

Exactly.

Fusion, the same one who met with her the day before and after... oh yeah, and Fusion drafted the document for her to take to ‘the’ Tower meeting where they talked about Russian adoption.

Like 1 of 100 other coincidences that makes the Trump Russia collusion look like an complete set up fantasy.

Trump World:

""...In a burst of tweets early Sunday morning, Trump insisted that he is "very happy" with his existing legal team.

Trump said that many "lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the Russia case" and that people should not "believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on."

Reality:

#1, #2

"...Earlier in March, Trump met in the Oval Office with Emmet Flood, who helped represent President Bill Clinton during his impeachment process — but Flood didn’t join the team, and it’s unclear if a formal offer was made. Robert Giuffra Jr., a litigator who once clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist, rejected an offer, as did Olson.

#3

"Former George W. Bush administration solicitor general Ted Olson last week turned down President Trump's entreaties to join his legal team for the Russia investigation. And now Olson is explaining what seems to be his reasoning.

It probably won't surprise you.

“I think everybody would agree: This is turmoil, it's chaos, it's confusion, it's not good for anything,” Olson said Monday on MSNBC's “Andrea Mitchell Reports.” “We always believe that there should be an orderly process, and, of course, government is not clean or orderly ever. But this seems to be beyond normal.”

And #4 & #5 yesterday...

"Two more high-power attorneys have had to turn down President Donald Trump. Tom Buchanan and Dan Webb confirmed to The Daily Beast that Trump reached out to them about representing him, and that they couldn’t do it.

“President Trump reached out to Dan Webb and Tom Buchanan to provide legal representation,” they said in a statement."

Hey, Donald, Patricia Houlihan is available... But she'll probably turn you down. Or, sadly, she probably has a "conflict of interest" (smarter than you).

He's a very stable genius. Not just anyone can rise to the level of representing him. Similar to his cabinet.

yeah, but we don't need to worry about those meetings before or after. just the 20 minute meeting where they obviously turned over all the codes.

Ahhh you and your Trump entrenched WaPo haters...too bad the real people in middle America can't get to the top of a Google search so easily or mainstream media tv screens throughout the day.

Darrel Smith: Trump's accomplishments are significant | Mobridge Tribune

If you’re informed by the mainstream media, you would think that the Trump administration is disorganized, incompetent, cartoonish and incapable of achieving success. The opposite appears to be true.

EXCLUSIVE – After he escaped from Al Qaeda in Syria, American photojournalist Matt Schrier investigated his own kidnapping and uncovered what he describes as a pattern of "betrayal" by FBI agents handling his case.

Schrier is now asking hard questions of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who now leads the special counsel Russia probe, and former FBI Director James Comey who was fired by President Trump in May 2017.

"Not every FBI agent is bad. Some are very good people," Schrier told Fox News. "But the ones that are bad need to be weeded out. And the ones who let them be bad, and who turn their head, need to be exposed."

In an exclusive cable interview that first aired Monday on "The Story" with Martha MacCallum, Schrier went in depth, sharing emails, financial records and formal letters of complaint, which backed up allegations that after he was taken hostage in 2012, the FBI monitored his accounts as Al Qaeda terrorists used his money to buy at least a dozen computers and tablets.

While he was tortured and held by al Nusra, the brutal Al Qaeda franchise in Syria, Schrier claimed the FBI put intelligence gathering ahead of his personal security, hoping to track the computers and tablets to learn more about Al Qaeda recruits and future plots. After his harrowing escape, Schrier started demanding answers from the FBI, which at the time of his kidnapping was led by Mueller.

American who escaped Al Qaeda captivity says FBI, under Mueller and Comey, betrayed him | Fox News

It is Fox "reporting" like this that caused Peters to recently jump ship and call them a propaganda arm of the Trump administration. It is Fox "reporting" like this which has completely undermined their credibility, even within many GOP circles.

The partisanship should end at the ocean's waters. Instead, what we have going on is a blatant effort by those so desperate to have Trump cling to power that they will willingly malign the nation's intelligence and law enforcement services just because they have the gall to do their jobs and investigate real concerns that the Russians (and possibly others) have bought and paid for massive influence over this (small p) president.

Since this Stormy Daniels story was a big dud, I’m sure they’ll be something tossed out on this front to keep the rabid anti-trumpers occupied

No I just think since they’re on the same witch hunt you’re on you're willing to let the bastards doing the investigating to continue to do so instead of yanking their asses and adding them to the list of investigatees like we feel should happen.

But that's my point. If you are skeptical of the spin of Rachel Maddow on all of this because she's a lib, then you should also be skeptical of the reporting of Fox News when it speaks to an unrelated guy in unrelated circumstances complaining about people in the FBI who the reporter then cavalierly links to Comey or McCabe.

So I don’t think that was your point but ok since you stated this. I don’t blindly listen to Fox News. Nor do I blindly listen to CNN. And I just don’t listen to MSNBC. Both CNN and Fox News have a few honest to God journalists left. But not many. And all of the evening shows on both networks need to be judged on the topics not the opinions of the hosts. I’ve said this before about myself. If im watching CNN I’ve probably got Fox or other goggle searches going on my phone. And visa versa.

That’s a great read. Would be interesting to see how Muller would respond to a direct limiting by Sessions.

And the visceral and painful wailing and howling of obstruction by the anti Trumpers would be awesome.

Honestly, is Rosenstein's fault that Mueller has such latitude. The original order should have been more directed and specific.

The obvious flaw in this argument revolves around Rosenstein. Rosenstein was appointed by Trump. He is a Republican. I've yet to hear anyone accuse Rosenstein of wanting to "get the president" so to speak.

If anything, Rosenstein wants out of this situation. He had this hot potato tossed into his lap by Sessions. This is a lose-lose situation for Rosenstein from nearly every perspective. As such, he would likely be willing to entertain most any legal argument that has credence to end the special investigation and get him out of this situation.

Why has this not occurred? What say ye?

Who didn't have ties to the Russians during the campaign? Gates is going to get a sweet deal.

Sure seems like everyone's campaign had some level of contacts with "the Russians." The question is who, why, and for what purpose.

Kush setting up a back channel using their intelligence network, that is known and is severe. So is Manafort and Flynn selling them influence. Question is, did the Russians have some sort of sway over Trump due to financial dealings or blackmail material, that made him a mark for manipulation such that they worked together to get him elected; or, did Trump or someone with his knowledge trade post-election influence for pre-election help.
