TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

It shouldn't, it's completely different.

The only difference I see is surveillance is passive intrusion, where an investigation is active. Both are extremely dangerous when they can be weaponized against an opponent. For example, you brought up a list of indictments/convictions during this investigation. Most were for lying to the FBI. Guess who else has lied to the FBI/congress during the course of this investigation but hasn't been charged. :whistling:

Sessions? Don Jr.? Am I close?

So Clapper spoke about the dossier with reporters. So what? Not illegal. If he has conflicting testimony as to whether he spoke to Tapper or anyone else, it's a big nothingburger. Typical FOX trash piece.

He later lied about doing so. So what?

He's a known liar. He falsely testified under oath 5 years ago that the NSA wasn't "wittingly" collecting data on millions of Americans.

Seems like a massive double standard.

So we've identified Clapper and Comey for lying during this investigation. I'll throw out McCabe as well. Anyone we're forgetting?

Yes. These folks:

Not necessarily correct. This information has been inducted into the intelligence community. So he leaked government information to the public. The OIG will determine if that’s against policy. If there was deemed to be classified information (and I have no idea on this) then that is illegal.

Basically you can’t support your desire to just outright reject this as a problem. That is why it’s getting scrutiny now.

You two are proving my point. 4 of the 8 pics you posted were indicted/plead guilty. The individuals in my post are getting off scott free.

Are you two not following the thread. The argument I'm making is it's dangerous to weaponize investigations by targeting an individual/group. I made a case that several people conducting the investigation are just as guilty of the crimes they're investigating as the targets.

Kelly thinks he's saving U.S. from disaster, calls Trump 'idiot,' say White House staffers

White House chief of staff John Kelly has eroded morale in the West Wing in recent months with comments to aides that include insulting the president's intelligence and casting himself as the savior of the country, according to eight current and former White House officials.

The officials said Kelly portrays himself to Trump administration aides as the lone bulwark against catastrophe, curbing the erratic urges of a president who has a questionable grasp on policy issues and the functions of government. He has referred to Trump as "an idiot" multiple times to underscore his point, according to four officials who say they've witnessed the comments.

Hell he probably is saving the country by keeping the little dictator under marginal control.

If he talked to them about it before it went public then it is a leak. You think it's okay that the Director of Intelligence is discussing intelligence they've received? Besides, leaks are felonies.

If he talked after it was public it's still problematic given they were using it as intelligence.

Finally, as others have pointed out he denied this under oath and you can ask Gen Flynn about how cool that is.
