You're assuming life is like a bad 90s action movie. They're not going out and hiring a hitman.
They simply open the door for a crazy. It just so happens the 20 year old dweeb is who walked through. The government has been (provably) using these types for a while now.
Sounds like in this case it was a hedge against an existing position moreso than a bet that the stock was going down.Opposite sentiment though. Buying the DJT puts is a bet that underlying DJT shares will drop in price. The Game Stop meme gang discovered that Game Stop had been shorted so heavily that there weren’t enough shares in the open market to cover the short positions. So the meme guys organized a short squeeze by banding together, buying shares, and therefore driving up the stock price which created margin calls on the GME shorters. Brokers stepped in to save those that were shorting by not allowing the small, retail traders to buy shares. The GME meme guys were done wrong. The big guys that shorted GME shouldn’t have been rescued by the brokers.
It's really hard for me to believe the US Secret Service failed so many times in a row at the same event. . . failures that occured day after day and all pertaining to the same directive. At some point, though, a series of relatively improbable incompetent events ceases to become the simplest explanation...
That's understandable. I'll take a different approach with it, based on the explanations we are getting and the spotty reports of what happened, how could the usss not have multiple failures? It's really hard for me to believe the US Secret Service failed so many times in a row at the same event. . . failures that occured day after day and all pertaining to the same directive.
I might be convinced they failed once because of negligence. I can't believe they failed multiple times for days on end.
Fox has learned that Senators were told in the all-member briefing today that Thomas Crooks wrote on a gaming platform called ‘Steam’, July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds”
”When investigators reviewed the laptop, they found a few searches in July of: Trump, Biden, when is DNC convention, and July 13 Trump rally
Investigators have found no evidence of a particular ideology, which the FBI believes is notable, and nobody in interviews reported Crooks discussing politics.
Suspect has two cell phones, primary phone was recovered from the scene along with a remote transmitter (detonator). Secondary cell phone was found at the home, it had only 27 contacts and the FBI is in the process of tracking down and interviewing those people.
There were plenty of misses in Dealey Plaza before they finally had to get the emergency kill shot from the front/Grassy Knoll.
Also, this nonsense about him being a poor shot needs to stop.
If that's the case there should be glaring failures across the board. If they can fail so hard at their #1 objective, there must be failures everywhere. I don't believe they can fail at the #1 goal over and over for multiple days. Not to mention the reports of staff changes for this particular event and completely rearranging how they set-up a rally. That's understandable. We are only exposed to their leadership when something goes wrong. But Mojo was right, the leadership is a cluster of incompetency.

Do we have any idea of the # of failures that had to occur in order for Crooks to get to the point where he fired off up to 9 rounds at a US President? Literally, failures for days.
I just have a hard time believing the Secret Service can have such a complete collapse in regard to their #1 objective. I can think of 4 massive failures during the moments of the shooting alone. . . we could take all the posters in this thread and do a better job guarding the president than these people did that weekend.
Okay, what does that start to look like at that point, especially since that time nothing makes sense?we could take all the posters in this thread and do a better job guarding the president than these people did that weekend
The key difference between a democracy and a republic lies in the limits placed on government by the law, which has implications for minority rights. Both forms of government tend to use a representational system — i.e., citizens vote to elect politicians to represent their interests and form the government. In a republic, a constitution or charter of rights protects certain inalienable rights that cannot be taken away by the government, even if it has been elected by a majority of voters. In a "pure democracy," the majority is not restrained in this way and can impose its will on the minority. Not sure what this means. We definitely have democracy, democracy just isn't as good as advertised.
That's more likely than the SS failing in such a prolific way, imo.
I just don't understand why people dismiss government malice so easily now, especially after the last few years.Plausible deniability. It doesn't actually take a ton. So what if someone gets fired?
Once people realize their own government manufactured a story and evidence, and conspired against a candidate elect and a sitting President - is it so hard to believe?
The coordination with Russia Gate at the highest levels of government foreign and domestic took way more than this attempt would take.
All the pieces of the pie to with what the Bush Family was doing with illegal drug and arms trading involving 100s if not 1000s of people was on a whole other scale. Basically it was a whole giant enterprise. Basically, nobody went to jail, Papa Bush stayed an arms length away as VP.
I was more or less defending the SS on many levels on Monday, well, that went out the window.... looks like a ton more than incompetence to me.
If I understand you correctly, I think there are glaring failures across the board. Perimeter, communication, number of personnel available, no contingency for sloped roof (apparently), Trump allowed to go on stage with a known active threat, Crpoks walking around evaluating the best opportunity, nobody stationed on a known advantageous point. And those are just the ones I can recall off the top of my head.If that's the case there should be glaring failures across the board.
