I would probably say yes. Some are more evident than others.

The last coach still had some talent going in to the 17' season.

The most important piece he lost was Josh Dobbs.

He hadnt recruited a QB to fill that was ready to fill that roll before he left. I think Pruitt has but thats not a fact just yet.

I picked true but the more I think about it I wish there was a neutral button.

Definitely not improved at qb
TE are no existent
WR I feel is a wash
O line has more talent but hard to say due to qb play
RB I gotta say was better with John Kelly

Over all the only “improvement” is on the defensive side of the ball but the offense has gotten worse. So I call wash.

After showing a little bit of promise early, the OL is still an underperforming unit.

The entire offense, as a unit, is terrible at the moment -- well, for the last two games they have been awful.

Tackling is a little better from a cursory glance but still not great.

We can't seem to defend against a slant pattern.

Overall, lots of room for improvement. I am still hopeful that this coach will grow into the HC job and get things right. The last two games have robbed me of a lot of my optimism. There are still just so many dumb errors being made with penalties and turnovers. Our guys don't look like a well-coached and prepared team. That is concerning since we are on year 3 of this staff's tenure. The COVID situation hasn't helped out, of course, but at some point this program has to figure it out. We haven't yet. Not even close. Today's game against Alabama is unlikely to show much positives -- Given what we've seen so far, it won't be competitive. Maybe that will change.

Kind of depends on when you compare them. If you are only talking about Jones' last year vs current then
JG is worse now than he was back then. BM and JT are probably not SEC QBs either.

Our best and only true QB was hurt by corona
Agree on JG. The rest is a bunch of unfounded bunk. We have no idea what UT has in HB. No matter how good he looked in HS or even how good the competition was... this is a completely different level. If JG proved nothing else it is that a guy can look really, really good in HS.. and be a bad college QB.

Shrout has shown the arm. Maurer has shown a lot of the skills you want but needs to put it all together, clean up the mistakes, and be coached up.

Yet, it’s still probably better than it was in 2017.

I don’t think the WRs and TEs are better.
I can agree with you. The O-line is iffy, considering the amount of talent we supposedly have. The WRs I think is due to inexperience but I think there IS talent at the position. The TE position has held its own, considering our top guy went down, nothing to spectacular but nothing to really brag about either. Honestly, there are bright spots sprinkled all over this squad, unfortunately they are overshadowed by one dark.
GBO!!

On paper yes, but a game between the Vols 2018 team that played WVU and the Vols team that played Kentucky last week would be a pick ‘em.

True. Even the Oline is better, even if its not as good as it should be.

Every defensive unit is better and deeper. WR haven't missed a beat, RB is cooking with gas, TE is arguable tbh. And of course QB is not improving much.

OL at times has looked good. Pass pro leaves something to be desired.

WRs and TE might be correct, but we lost a lot of talent in Jennings, Callaway, and DWA. Then our only returning TE got hurt (I think we're missing him more than anyone thought). Hyatt looks like he'll be good, Wideman as well, Holiday and Calloway could be good as well, but they're all young. Palmer has looked good, Brandon has had a resurgence. Keyton and Tillman have been somewhat disappointing.

Covid19 messed a young team up that needed practice and strength conditioning so for me it's hard to tell for 2 and half games we looked better then something happened.
