1. Unlike Kiffin he does not have ties to another program he will leave us for. He could be here for 10 years even if he is tremendously successful.
2. He has a military background. I want him to grow sideburns, but out last military head coach got a stadium named after him.
3. He actually seems like a great person. People can mock St. Richt all they want, but combine being a great person with caring a great deal about discipline? We could be proud of our players and program and know that our coach is someone we would be proud for our sons to grow up to be like.
4. He can do a heck of a lot more than run the option. He can run a pro style offense, and he did that as an offensive coordinator in the pros.
5. I trust Mike Hamilton[/B]. Resisting Peyton Manning and lots of Fulmer players is great at this point because Cutcliffe has health problems and is not the right age to build something special. Mike knows his job is on the line. He was pressured with the Buzz firing and he hired Bruce Pearl. Home run. Was not a "name" hire. He was pressured before about lots of guys and Kiffin was a good-great hire that people thought was bad. He has no character and he shafted us, but he did work hard and recruit well.
Kiffin was all sizzle no steak. Carpenter should be able to help train Calhoun on the sizzle piece, but the man is full of substance. He is not relying on his daddy, he is his own man.
